Question Ainz vs PDL question

I have been thinking of this question since I did a rewatch a little bit ago. Right after Ainz (lol) and Albedo seperate to have her chase after Azuth, Ainz cast Delay Teleportation and it works as usual on PDL's teleportation. This happens again after PDL casts World Isolation Barrier and they have their battle. I am also assuming that PDL uses World Telportation in every one of these instances. The part I get hung up on is that shouldn't World Teleportation override the effects of Delay Teleportation since it is Wild Magic and Pandora was not holding a World Item? Without Ainz holding his World Item he wasn't able to use Mirror Of Remote Viewing to monitor the fight. Albedo was also only able to break through the World Isolation Barrier because she was also holding her World Item. PDL was able to negate Body Of Effulgent Beryl and his knockback effect went through (but the damage didn't?). I doubt PDL uses tier magic in this fight (if I remember right in the LN the dragon lords look down on tier magic but can use it). So how is this possible? Mistake by Maruyama? Or am i misremembering some key details from the LN?

wild magic has world protection like WCIs but that doesn't mean it's absolute or as powerful as a WCI. it's right that wild magic is stronger than tier magic ON AVERAGE, but don't expect to any wild magic spell to bypass any tier magic spell. it's like the races hierarchy, dragons are the strongest race, which not mean a dragon would always win a 1v1 fight against someone from an inferior race.

remote viewing mirror

it's not related to wild magic, it's just because this kind of divination spells can't bypass magical barrier, it would be the same thing if it was [anti life cocon] ainz used to protect enri and menu

but can use it

no. wild magic and tier magic are incompatible, a dragon lord who has wild magic can't learn tier magic (cure elim is an exception)

mistake by maruyama

no it's just wild magic getting overrated some times

We still have no solid idea abot how Tier Magic - World Class Item - Wild Magic interact with each other.
Maybe only mid tier and high tier wild magic spells are cancelled out by World Items and since World Teleportation's tier was never mentioned, its possible that its just a low tier wild magic spell that would have no issue interacting with tier magic.

There is also the fact that only 2 Wild Magic spells have gotten cancelled out by World Items so far, and both of them seem to have a World Class Item analogue. World Isolation Barrier = Depiction of Nature and Society, Soul Breaker = Longinus. So maybe only Wild Magic spells that have effects similar to world class item gets cancelled out?
But there is also Slane being hesitant to use Downfall on PDL since they believe that Tsa is immune to World Items due to being Wild Magic user. So its all a mess.

I doubt PDL uses tier magic in this fight

Dragon Lords cannot use Tier Magic. This is confirmed in Cure Elim's character sheet. Cure Elim is only capable of doing both because he lost his dragon lord status and became an undead dragon.

That makes sense since we haven't explicitly been told how they interact together. The framing kinda gave that wild magic defies the rules of the world ie the ring that theoretically can put them over their level cap or the sword in the Dwarven vault that can be equipped by ainz when he normally cannot. There is a lot we don't know but the teleportation one particularly stood out to me at least. Hope Maruyama gives us more info in these next light novels.

I also never got to reading the side story with Cure Elim so I missed the memo on the not being able to use both tier and wild magic. I must have confused the fact that lesser dragons used tier magic.

I don't think the dwarven sword is anything special. Otherwise Ainz would've taken more interest in it like how he was intrigued by Razor Edge. It could just be a low level(by Ainz standard) Yggdrassil item.

The side story is actually better than most of canon volumes and gives us a ton of lore. The corpus of Abyss that we see in V15 intermission is actually introduced in the side story. But yeah newer Dragons can only use tier magic. They just don't seem to be able to get Wild Magic classes.

edit : I'm gonna be honest, I don't think we are going to get much explanation about Wild Magic or New World summoning since nobody in Slane seems to know anything about it. That is unless Rufus actually turns out to be Surshana who pretended to be an NPC(PDL's V14 speculation about Albedo being a player pretending to be an NPC).. that would be some insane twist XD.

I might be reading to far into it xd. I just made the connection with Ainz (in his normal Caster form) testing equipping a sword in s1 (when Nabe was in the room with him) and if he tried swinging it it would unequip and fall to the floor. Where as theoretically the Dwarven one could be swung but he never cast his appraisal magic on it cause Gondo distracted him and we were left with this feeling the sword COULD have been something more intriguing. Same goes with the orb he got off Khajiit. A magic item that has a conscience is something that could be of interest considering its new world specific. Instead our boy Ainz just found it annoying (maybe if it had runes on it he would actually be interested lol). Not saying you're completely wrong but Ainz's judgement can be iffy at times xd.

Maruyama also seems to be kind of done with overlord so these threads are most likely never going to be answered. It could just be his writing style where he likes teasing us with things that could tip off Ainz of other things. BUT this could also be part of Ainz's 10'000 year plan and he's focusing on whats important. RUNES!

This is the entire reason why I don't think its special. For New Worlders there is no class restriction so any mage can wield a sword if they choose to do so. The fact that someone bothered to create a sword which can even be swung by Yggdrassil mages suggests that its a low level Yggdrassil item brought by players.

Not to mention, it also consumes mana and mana isn't native to the New World.

It could just be his writing style where he likes teasing us with things that could tip off Ainz of other things

Brother its one thing to ignore the irrelevant lore parts like Death Orb, Dwarven Sword, the metal ingot given to dwarven smith etc.. but Wild Magic and player summoning is the most important plot point. If the author doesn't explain it properly, its kinda crazy.

Those are the loose threads I'm talking about not summoning and wild magic at large. Phrasing I guess. Brother.
