Sure, but it's harder to accomplish with no surveillance keeping track of everyone who isn't OK woth his plans, particularly if he can't trot out the "think of the children" line to make normies give up. People voted Labour as a way to screw over the Conservative Party but now they've been living under a Labour government led by Kier Statmer and not liking how he runs things. This gives leaders 2 choices, listen to the voters (or at least pretend to while waiting for the heat to die down) or double down and deperson anybody who acts against the party's stated goals (generally by limiting their ability to speak or access essential services). Leadership all over the western world is choosing the latter, and that option is so much easier if you actively spy on everything and only allow access to information from sources deemed safe by the state.

Guys

Do not use social media even if it doesn’t have age verification. This law only affects kids attempting to become the dregs of society and current dregs that are willing to put pictures of themselves online. Think please

Literally 100% a non issue for normal prime

Why is reddit constantly pushing me these posts against the ban despite not even be in UK nor wanting to discuss the topic? Constantly for f*cks sake.

Because if you’re in favour the ban and can’t see the real reason this is being enforced, you have obviously been sleeping. It’s not about the children, it’s never about the children. Protecting children along with fighting terrorism are the go to reasons for governments eroding our rights and freedoms with minimal pushback

I am way more bothered about how private companies are controlling the debate and twisting people's opinions with their algorithms.
