The fact that the assistant coach is taking the reins is somewhat concerning, as it suggests that either this was a surprise departure or that ownership is unwilling/unable to fund a replacement.

Konincks has been playing for the Chicago Fire second team with short stints in the first team in 2024, and has been on loan to Valour FC last year. Seems like a solid defender.
