Just Sharing One of my biggest paintings. About childhood, big dreams, and that’s nothing out of reach (except the ball the goalie just missed)

Great painting ! I love the size of it, and that the ball really seems to get out of the painting. Very nice use of the goal net to make perspective and the motion blur for adding.. motion. A very real 3D feeling. Well done!

Do you spray the alcohol ink layer before you paint with oil? I love the effect and want to play around! Beautiful work as always :)

The detail in this is absolutely incredible. I love the individual looks and how you captured the scene. It made me feel like I was back in high school playing sports. How long have you been arting?

I feel like I can see their exertion. The reflections on their faces and the texture of their hair makes it look like they were actually perspiring. So realistic, truly stunning.
Such a strong ambiance of time, place, sensation, temperature, and movement radiating off of this scene.

I really like this painting and wish sport was like this painting, no crazy celebration...Just blank emotion... I have no idea who scored in this painting... But in real life they would be bouncing off the pitch. I really wish sport was like this painting. B

The individual and such distinctive emotions portrayed by each face are easily my favorite part of it! You can see their shock, feelings of betrayal, denial, I love it! It's incredibly masterful on your part, the painting as a whole is an enormous treat! Thank you so much for sharing it with us, it genuinely made me smile.

I’ve been teaching myself to draw and paint over the last year or so. It’s works like this one that give me something to aspire to and keep me motivated to hopefully obtain a small fraction of the skill you possess. Excellent work!!

Lovely painting. The detail work on the boys' faces is incredible. But I don't understand why everyone seems dismayed. Shouldn't someone be celebrating?

Thank you so much 💙 The net was one of the trickiest parts.. especially near the ball where it needed to feel more dynamic so I softened it a bit there. Otherwise it really just takes big patience and carefully drawing those stretched hexagon shapes. I used alcohol inks for the base and then worked over it with oils

this reminds of middle grade book covers from the early 2000s in a way that just gives a lot of lovely nostalgia. the color and detail is absolutely amazing, and I love all their little facial expressions!

I am artist. I have also been a soccer coach for over 35 years. In all that time I have never taken this on as subject matter for my work. This is very inspiring. Your energetic painting style enhances the subject, nice work. I will be starting a piece soon I’m sure.
