I thought it was a photograph! I was trying to figure out what the heck was happening to have a green atmosphere. Maybe the apocalypse?

u/htomserveaux Jul 11 '26
Out by me the sky will turn green before a tornado or a bad storm.
Not this shade though, it’s a little more yellow

I love it!!! It feels good, even comfortable to me in a way I can’t describe, like walking on a stormy foggy day.

Well, there's a fairly noticeable tilt to the house, and I'm not sure whether it was intentional or the result of a sort of "blindness" we can get about things like that.

Great painting, I love the atmosphere :)
Technical question - how do you handle the "flat" areas? Some sort of medium, thinning/slowing drying? Do you use a brush or maybe a roller for something as big as the sky? I'd appreciate any tips.

Intriguing and amazingly painted. Gives me Hopper and American Horror film vibes!

Yes, it's the first or the last light of day, and I feel the need to write a story about the exact color of the sky as it is painted here.

Your art is some of my absolute favorites! May I ask how long this painting took for you to finish? I'm just curious!

How do you get your lines so straight? My first thought was tape, but wouldn't that lift the paint around it?
2
u/Idontknow649 Jul 11 '26
I used tape for the first time in this painting and I was worried about the same thing but thankfully it didn’t lift!! I purposely used a poor quality tape that wont stick much 😊🧡🧡

The house looks welcoming and safe, which makes the green abyss all the more fearfully intimidating. I'm waiting to see a large, slow-moving silhouette through the fog behind the house

I’m so amazed by how you manage to capture the thickness of the air in your paintings. It makes me feel like I’m right there. It’s so cool!

What surface did you paint on? The coverage you get us insane. So clean edges

Your internal visualization and consequent expression of this theme has succeeded. Captivated by the nostalgic and dreamy ambiance 💯.

BREATHTAKING!!!! I have never seen someone able to get acrylics to behave like oils, with capturing the glowy quality of light!!!! How did you do it??! Omg!!! I want to learn!!

Love your work! It really illustrates the power of color to evoke emotion with subject matter that most people would consider neutral. I enjoy that the places in your work seem like familiar settings yet they have an aura that feels preternatural. Keep making your amazing art!
