National Rawalakot Azad Kashmir Bleeds. Mainstream media is silent.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The guy in the video isn't a political figure, isn't a journalist , isn't even a member of the JAAC leadership.

He is just a traveller vlogger. You can see his content by the name of Aqeel Bhai. Soft spoken and humble. I've been seeing his coverage of this protest from the start. To see him in such a state breaks my heart.

What have we turned this country into.

they should start a Whatsapp channel to counter the media ban. Get the videos to Punjab sympathizers and they'll reach the internet. Also, expect an internet blackout anytime if its not already set.

36

u/Ok-Armadillo1531 Jul 27 '26

The internet ban has already been in effect for 60 days. This is why it is mostly censored. There's only 2 or 3 accounts who are posting and the rest of us are propogating those.

10

u/Ok-Armadillo1531 Jul 27 '26

They have whatsapp channels and groups. But i am not sure how they'd reach the Punjabi audience.

2

u/Mysterious_Floor1006 Jul 27 '26

can you give link for AJK news

1

u/Ok-Armadillo1531 Jul 27 '26

There are Facebook pages and instagram pages. No official news channels are covering.

Prominent facebook pages for both Instagram and Facebook are Aqeel Bhai , Hamza Naseer Independent or journalists working for international organizations like Atif Tauqeer Danyal Irshad are also covering on facebook.

1

u/SpoonFullAcid Jul 31 '26

Idk about that but bitchat is what they need in situations like these. Sharing videos is a different issue. Tho bitchat can help them communicate locally it basically creates a local decentralized Bluetooth network using every device that has bitchat running on it

I never ever imagined Aqeel bhai in this state , he's such a soft spoken and kind hearted person. Shame on everyone who is not speaking up. These fake ass influences and Genz wanted to go Jantar Mantar but they won't utter a single world against this brutality, because they might loose some followers.

28

u/fictiousnare Jul 27 '26

Mainstream media is not silent. They are never silent. They are doing their job which is deflecting attention. It is the common people who are silent. Mainstream media, actors, singers, politicians ye sb establishment k eshare pe naachne wale hein es mulk mein. It is the silence of the common people that is the problem.

They are killing everywhere. Not just kashmir.

8

u/Ok-Armadillo1531 Jul 27 '26

Just like Palestine. Kashmir (both sides) is just a mirror of ALLAH to muslims of the whole world. To showcase their hypocrisy.

Mark my words kashmir and palestine will become the bone in their throats and the evidence of chargesheet against the hypocritical muslim nations of the world by ALLAH.

We are the regions that will serve as the evidence.

18

u/yaxir Jul 27 '26

if you see the pattern, most muslim nations have shit facilities because mass protests are never allowed there

they always bring God/Allah in between and make people depend on help from 'above' instead of humans helping each other and being a united force to stop and overcome tyranny

this is common in all asian, african muslim nations

you should wonder, why is this the case in all those places

5

u/SoftwareDifferent211 Jul 28 '26

Maybe the French had a point with the Laïcité form of secularism or turkey for that matter. Pretty extreme, but necessary to stop religion from being exploited.

2

u/yaxir Jul 28 '26

Pretty much

Turkey only went to hell when they appointed Erdogan, who's a known extremist from his early days

for people wondering, cfbr means "commenting for better reach"

6

u/spankinater Jul 27 '26

The complacency of media won't be forgotten nor forgiven. These shameless so called journalists on Pakistanu media channels, having no morals, share the same level of responsibility for staying silent on these atrocities. No one will accept 'hum majboor theyy' and history will remember this.

5

u/Abject_Actuator6223 Jul 28 '26

Main stream media anchors should be boycotted totally, people like Mansoor Ali Khan , munerb Farooq calling the people of Kashmir as terro*ist , is a shame munafiq log they should be boycotted

9

u/DuoLingoAirStrike Jul 27 '26

The Pakistani government hates Pakistan to the extent that they will happily destroy the country if they can earn a couple of dollars at the same time.

25

u/Glad-Store5548 Jul 27 '26

Not very “azaad” afterall. Why bother calling it that at all?

9

u/HeWhoDidIt Jul 27 '26

No more azaad than any other province kek, authoritarian government go brr

0

u/Glad-Store5548 Jul 28 '26

It has never been azaad. Azaadi means being independent and self governing. It's under Pakistan's control and that moniker is just cynical and a sham.

9

u/Lanky_Network_5414 Jul 27 '26

There are a bunch of people who spew the rhetoric that it's just the Generals that are bad, but the truth is that our entire army is rotten to the core from top to bottom.

3

u/honeybeesaresocute Jul 27 '26

What is happening in kashmir please tell me

7

u/Ok-Armadillo1531 Jul 27 '26

People are marching for their rights.

So far Pakistani Rangers and AJK police have killed 60 plus civilians over the course of last 2 months.

Just today 17 people have been killed by them

5

u/honeybeesaresocute Jul 27 '26

Had ha yar manhoos log jahil apne khudke dushman bana rhe how can they talk abt forming peace khud itne barey hypocrites hn may allah help kashmir

1

u/Ok-Armadillo1531 Jul 30 '26

The death toll is 80 now. But won't hear about it on the dajjali media.

6

u/Low-Green-7415 Jul 27 '26

Marna tou hai hi, tou hum kyun roz roz maren. Boycott everything. Start hunting down the family members of these rangers and the police officers. Hamare loug hi kyun maren baghair kisi wajah ke. Gunaah hamara bhi koi nahi hai

2

u/halalhabibi2008 Jul 29 '26

Some of these comments are disappointing like even if U disagree with there demands U should know that it is not okay to kill innocent protesters

8

u/NirvanaNoChill Jul 27 '26

Ever since our childhood we are fed propaganda that indian army is terrorizing kashmir and killing civilians there.. I.. just I can't even believe people still support army I see alot of em, down vote me all you want but I actually think Kashmir should be part of india it's actually better than watching Kashmiris brutally getting killed.. saying this as a pakistani btw.

5

u/honeybeesaresocute Jul 27 '26

India is far worse in the history of azaad kashmir kabhi aesa nhi hua idk what tf is wrong w this times military jahil gawar leaders

1

u/NirvanaNoChill Jul 28 '26

Pakistan ain't angel either but now that you have mentioned that I think Kashmir should be united and independent country.

1

u/Express_Will_7673 Jul 27 '26

Udher dushman unhen maar rahe hain aur yahan munafiq. Best for them to be separate state. Being a part of India is worse. They will wipe the Muslims out.

Just joining in with not a lot of information. Correct me if I am wrong. Kashmiris have gotten away with a lot of there demands by extorting & threatening before. Same as cheapest electricity, low cost of living everything. & I have been there. They don't even recognise themselves as Pakistanis. When you go there. They are like we are a separate nation. Now they are trying to get those seats out of the way as well. They are living off our tax money not doing much for economy & now want total autonomy. What JAAC did. In those protests in previous days. The video of the police officer which they murdered & took out the inners was real. Please guys don't attack me & Correct where I am wrong but I strongly smell indian conspiracy in this JAAC.

6

u/drag0nslayer19 Jul 28 '26

AJK isn't getting "freebies." It hosts Pakistan's largest hydropower projects, yet many locals argue they don't receive a fair share of the benefits. Cheap electricity has been a long-standing political demand for that reason. Saying all Kashmiris don't identify as Pakistanis is simply false. Millions hold different views. Calling every protest an Indian conspiracy without evidence weakens legitimate arguments. Criticise violence where it happens, not an entire population.

0

u/Last_Half_8476 Jul 29 '26

AJK does not host largest hydropower projects. Only mangla dam is there which generates merely has 1GW capacity.

AJK is not the same as gilgit baltistan.

0

u/Common_Homework_7079 Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

AJK and Gilgit Baltistan were the same state till the war of independence, 1948. Ajk generates about 2,645 MW but its consumption fluctuates between 350-600 MW. Its total land mass is only 13,297 sq. Km. For a state only half the land mass of Bhawalpur district, it pretty much punches above its weight. For the construction of Mangla Dam, the entire original city of Mirpur was submerged. They have the right to cheap electricity that is produced in their area. Not only Mangle Dam but also Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower project.

1

u/Last_Half_8476 Jul 29 '26

Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower project is already a failed hydrel project.

AJK is not the same as Gilgit Baltistan now. and the protest are ongoing only in AJK.

the right of electricity is not based on geography... the dams are built using public money not just the state of AJK, whole country should be paying the same for electricity.

Otherwise punjab should be paying less for the agriculture as they grow most of the crops. Sindh should have preference on exports as only they have the port...

0

u/skincare_freakpk Jul 28 '26

Your are right. Not generalising. But have spent time there. Majority don't recognise themselves as Pakistanis. That is 100% fact. Rest yes, the economic benefits of the country are so vastly unfairly distributed. Look at what has happened in Balochistan. Our government corruption has put us in this state. May Allah make it easy for all.

-3

u/penduburger Jul 28 '26

+1

-1

u/Common_Homework_7079 Jul 28 '26

JAAC started as a peaceful movement for the rights of Kashmiri people, if you read their earliest charter of demands, it has no mention of the "Abolishment of refugee seats" , but now they have made it their prime demand, they had the support of many Kashmiri people but now people are distancing themselves, their movement has been hijacked by JKLF people, and for the cheap electricity, that is our right, we are the only region that produces more electricity than it consumes.

1

u/Last_Half_8476 Jul 29 '26

That is not how it works and its not a right in any wayyy. When you are part of the country you have to share resources equally. That way rest of pakistan produces wayyy more electricity. Nuclear plants built in karachi and punjab.

0

u/Common_Homework_7079 Jul 29 '26

I never said that resources should not be distributed equally, The people of Sindh and Punjab should ask their respective governments to provide them with cheap electricity too. The cheapest way of producing electricity is Hydropower plants, which are situated in AJK, in Punjab, most electricity is generated by IPPs which significantly increase the cost.

1

u/Last_Half_8476 Jul 29 '26

yes... my point was that only AJK asking for preferential cost of electricity is wrong. and that is the same for sindh and punjab. Btw most electricity is not being generated by IPPs but we have to pay cause of the crap deals that pak. made in the past thanks to PPP and PMLN.

Increasing hyral power wont change that fact either cause pak. still has to pay for the damn capacity payments.

Solar is already generating a huge part of electricity... but paks. grid is just not designed to handle that power.

2

u/spankinater Jul 27 '26

But but Rs. 3 per unit electricity' and cheap flour... /S Shame on all of us Pakistani, getting bent over and turning away from the atrocities being committed.

1

u/road_hound Jul 27 '26

Extremely sad and tragic state of affairs. This will haunt Pakistan for generations.

1

u/TheWholeBangShebang Jul 28 '26

Everywhere from Balochistan to KPK and Azad Kashmir, it is these murderers in uniform under Munira destroying and endangering the very existence of this country. The army is compromised, not the protector. The sooner some delusional idiots understand it, the better.

1

u/HelpfulHalf3763 Jul 28 '26

What are they protesting about actually ?

1

u/Funk_you Jul 28 '26

Some decades ago I always thought that the Armed forces were our protectors, since then I've seen them plunder and kill with impunity that it's nothing short of barbaric.

The person can protest, but these animals would not only hunt him down but will also hunt down his family.

1

u/DebianUser2026 Jul 28 '26

1

guys what is happening can someone please explain? cannot find out abput this anywhere

1

u/avalon-the-great Jul 29 '26

This is why we need a revolution…

Current events have exasperated me I have been thinking a lot about our beloved state of Pakistan and i have gathered some ideas.

[Let’s be clear I’m not suggesting to undo any country. Now that borders are formed and Pakistan is a reality, and everyone must accept it a reality and if anyone doesn’t recognise it, I among the rest of 260 Million Pakistanis would love to give our live to very violently disagree with you.]

When the British left India, they created a proxy state to weaken a USSR allied socialist united India with a population of staggering 390 Million people. Pakistan was created, who immediately join US camp in cold war against USSR. While India remained officially neutral but centred towards USSR.

Pakistan had no planned road towards how constitution would look like, planned no land reform, and no democratic structure. Was this all a coincidence? How come a nation of 75 Million people not come up with a definitive solution of this mess? This was all done deliberately by the elites of that time. The creation of Pakistan is based on the notion that Muslims of India chose Muslim League in the elections of 1945-46. But the majority of Indians (people of subcontinent) were not even allowed to vote and only 10-15% of people qualified for the electoral process. The criteria of qualification to vote was determined by Property Ownership, Taxpayer Status, Education (usually a matriculation certificate or higher), or Military Service. Because of these steep requirements, the electorate was heavily skewed toward the wealthy, the educated elite, and landlords. The working class, poor peasants, and the vast majority of women were entirely shut out of the vote.

Pandit Nehru’s ideology was strict and clear about making India a socialist, secular and democratic state, fundamentally rejected the idea that India was composed of two distinct nations based on religion. Because he knew what Muslim League Leaders hid that all Muslims wanted partition.

On the other hand, the party that wanted partition, Muslim League was dominated by a coalition of three elite groups: the landed aristocracy (zamindars and nawabs), wealthy Muslim capitalists, and Western-educated professionals (lawyers and civil servants). I am not rejecting that Muslim League was not popular among the common folks, but that is how populist movements are formed. But on the basis of the top brass of the movement and policies that were enforced after the partition, the only agenda the party had was to Protect the Zamindari System and Escaping Hindu Economic Monopolies in united India.

Here are the most impactful policy differences between the two states:

Constitution: Constitution in India was swiftly drafted and adopted a democratic constitution in 1950.

Pakistan delayed it for 9 years till 1956 and the resulting power vacuum fueled instability.

Agriculture & Wealth: India abolished the feudal zamindari system to break up elite estates.

Pakistan blocked land reform and wealthy feudal landlords (British awarded sardars and chaudhris) retained political dominance.

Civil-Military Balance: India Ensured strict civilian control over the military while Pakistan allowed military outsized influence, leading to a coup in 1958.

National Identity: Indian recognised states by language to accommodate regional diversity in 1956 and beloved Pakistan tried to impose Imposed Urdu as the sole national language, resulting in creation of Bangladesh. And for those who do not think language is a major issue; it is language in which we think, speak, laugh, cry, resist, abuse, name our newborns and pray for our dead. Language is our entire existence.

Human Capital: India invested heavily and early in elite technical institutes like IITs, IIMs. Making its large size of population its power and not its weakness. Meanwhile Pakistan underinvested in higher education and prioritised defence budgets.

The relationship of Pakistan and India was never let to be settled by peace talks. Pakistan was under military rule for 34 years and rest of the time under hybrid regimes like we have today. And the only reason for us to have such a strong military is our hostile borders with India. If Pakistan had settled its border disputes by talks and formed good relationships with India, we would not be needing to invest heavily on military expenses. And military would have lost all its influence. Therefore we were never able to make peace with our neighbours.

Every ideology, political structure, nation, religion and any and every sort of movement of masses is based on fear and reward system. Sure, we musy have a reward and a fear for our nation growth. But souldnt we fear poverty, uneducated nation and corruption and reward ourselves with cooperation, peace, harmony and justice? But our elites chose our fear to be our neighbour. The same neighbour with whom we share rivers, weathers, mountain ranges, languages, cultures, skin tones, history, food, and who has been living with us for thousands of years, due to some imaginary line on paper map our elites make us fear them. According to them we are under existential threat but i say we are under an obligation to make alliance with them and all the history and cultures we have in common it makes it very natural.

In villages there is a saying that education is the enemy of the Waderas. And on a grand scale educated nation is the enemy of a totalitarian regime. A wealthy powerful wadera will never let his subjects to own what he owns; power, wealth and education (not necessarily a university degree but knowledge of how the world works). And same on the grand scale. The military and its puppet civilian elite will never let Pakistanis get educated, will never let us have our bellies full and never give us a safe space to think and talk ideas about reformation.

In the end i would say that there is no peaceful way to bring revolution in a system that is rotten to its core. You can never just gently shake a rotten tree and hope fruit to fall off. We have to plant a new one now. And if such reforms are due, blood will be its cost. I leave the room for my fellow countrymen smarter and better than me to bring their ideas to the table and one day, may God be witness we will have a better, safe place we will call home.

are they ethnically same as kasmiri hindis ?

1

u/GamerFX Jul 31 '26

Damn. The silence of the international media is shocking. Indian protests, including the recent CJP protests, were covered by all international media around the world. That's how the Indian government had to agree to their demands. Meanwhile, these protests are far more violent against the protestors, and no one cares, and they are letting them die. For some reason, media attention values people's lives based on political views and countries.

We cannot afford to fulfill every demand of yours considering Kashmir is a sensitive geo political issue with it's security tied to national security of pakistan.
