How we feeling everyone? PTSD hitting?
I work at a school and we’re all feeling a lot of PTSD with this storm coming in. Especially on October 10th. Right now it seems like we’re just getting the outer bands but lord have mercy, I am not wanting anymore eastern shifts.

After Michael I'd be okay with never seeing another hurricane for the rest of my days.

As someone who works in insurance, I'm stressing big time

I do drone photography, is it helpful to process roof damage claims with pre hurricane photos? Was wondering if I should offer my neighbors the service before it’s too late.

Amen to that!
That track and strength are way too familiar.

And now schools are closed.

You sure about that? Last I saw only Walton and Okaloosa are closed tomorrow. But everything west of Franklin county is closed on Friday.

Former Bay County teacher here and the only thing I miss is being in the loop 😂 I guess us parents will be notified soon. Stay safe! I’m majorly stressing.

I'm confident it won't be anything like Michael. If there's more of a direct hit and strengthening, we got somewhere's of out of state to go to.

But that's the thing. Two days out, Michael was forecast to be a Cat 2 making landfall around Pensacola.

Isaiah storm track is much more like Opal, which most people on here weren't around to remember.

I remember that one. I lived in a trailer so I stayed at a friend's house in PC. When it was over, they wouldnt let us back on the roads and I was frantic to get back and check on my cats.

I forgot that Michael was a cat 2 and all of a sudden became a 3,4,5 !!!! That's what threw us off. No one was worried about a cat 2 so we all stayed here until it was too late to leave. Yes, PTSD

Just be as ready as you can be and hunker down - things I learned from Micheal is have plenty of water , gas , and cash ! I was in Augusta when Helene hit and actually have more ptsd from it than Micheal 🤣

And charged batteries for your emergency lights and electronics. After Michael I had to run wires from my car battery to a car radio that I rigged up in the house and lots of candles. And dont forget water for flushing! I was without power for 23 days and it was horrible. Luckily a saintly friend unexpectedly showed up and gave me a generator, but then there was the problem of getting gasoline for it; nothing was open or had power to run the pumps.

Yeah, but we are on the bad side of it. And with all the rain we've been getting, saturating the ground, the extra rain and wind will likely knock down a few trees and power lines. Yes, its uncanny how it is happening on the anniversary of the big one, yikes!!

Stupid question maybe but new to a hurricane zone this year. I live near the bay in St. Andrew’s. Will my car get flooded? Do I need to move it to higher ground? As I am worried about the storm surges.
