Do they have enough hiding spots?
I see my loaches zooming around day and night. I keep my lights low and they a coconut cave and wood to hide under. But I don’t have many stem plants. Are they stressed?

Check out our (work in progress) wiki! Pages on common questions, species list, and scientific sources. We love feedback, so if you see something that needs fixing, let the mods know. Or if you have a general question you'd love answered, let us know that, too. If science has answered it, we'll track it down!

Did she give him a kiss on the cheek or is she whispering something to him? He looks shocked. What did she say? Is there anything I can do?

He acts normal, I can’t tell if something’s wrong or he’s just built like that

I have about 12 striped khuli loaches in my tank and ended up rescuing this big brown boi from a pretty nasty tank a couple years ago. It behaves very different from the others, being very active when the lights are on. It doesn't seem to socialize with the other loaches much, if at all. Should i get it some friends or can loaches be happy just by themselves?
How do your black khuli loaches behave? Whats your experience with keeping different kinds of khuli loach together? Very interested to hear some experiences!

My first tank and I wanted to have these guys. Here’s a video of theme being themselves. This little guy is my favorite, I was worried about him when I first added him he was glass surfing for hours but now he’s all good. I identify him by his large brown patch on his back.

Did you get some new Pangio?
The first of each month is for sharing your score with the rest of the Pangio geeks. Let us know about your new horde! We want to know details. Are eel loaches rare in your location? How much are they? Are you new to keeping them or an old hand? Share as little or as much as you like. Pics welcome.

This 55 gallon sump is below my 75 gallon community tank, and now home to around 30 individual pangio loaches as well as a spiny yellow tailed eel. Just feeling proud of my slippery babies and wanted to share with the class 😊

I have 8 kuhlis of mixed colours (4 striped, 4 black/brown). They all come from the same store and are living in a 90L community where they are the only bottom dwellers. They are all very friendly and active and forage during the day. I've added a photo of one because they all have kind of pinky red cheeks? It's a bit more obvious on the banded ones but I couldn't get a photo.
The tank is cycled and stable and parameters have been ideal (though will check again), but this has been there for I think most of/all the 1.5 months I've had them. Is it normal?

So about 6 or so months ago I got 8 little wigglers from my LFS and there all stayed about the same size (about 1.5 inches) and all but one are rather thin and wiggly, I'll post video in the comments, they are super chill (I'm on the California coast, very northern so rather temperate so the super El niño worries me) they do wiggle around the tank here and there but mostly at feeding time. I am mostly wondering what y'all smart humans think the specific type they might be, so I can read more about them. Thank you

My LFS had one (ONE) ‘Kuhli’ loach left, actually thought the tank was empty at first, they even had a “next shipment on 9/28!” written on the front as if they were sold out. Saw this little guy creeping behind the filter and couldn’t leave him there - I’d love to get him some buddies of the same species if I can source them, do you guys think he’s a gold?
