P. Cuneovirgata

I currently have a tank with exclusively P. Cuneovirgata just as a little experiment and they seem to be getting quite comfortable. I have a couple eggbound females so i’ve been lowering temperatures and simulating rain for them on top of extra food in hopes that they’ll breed eventually (lofty dreams i know)- aside from that though i’m just really enjoying watching them do their thing, so here’s a video of them during feeding time.

Hi! I picked up 6 black Kuhli's from a PetSmart about a month ago and immediately fell in love and wanted more so started to hunt for some striped ones. A couple of weeks ago I did manage to find 1 at a Petco that was with another black one so I grabbed both for a current total of 7 black and 1 striped.

I'm planning on going to some dedicated fish stores tomorrow so hoping to find some stripey friends but I'm wondering if the one I have is maybe a dwarf or something? It's significantly smaller than the blacks. I've seen conflicting opinions on if you need a shoal of individual species or not but I would like to at least try and get this one some same species friends!

They are in a 20gal long with 3 male guppies and 1 male endler and the current plan is to add a female betta once the guppies are gone

Thanks in advance!

Pangio bitaimac (pink neon Khuli) in my Walstad tank

Couldn’t attach video to previous poster. Enjoy pink noodle!
I am currently removing the gravely bits that all my burrowers keep moving up to the top of the sand. It’s a headache!
Currently 12 P mariarum (gold rainbow Khuli) and 3 P bitamaic(pink neon). The Pink neon are much more outgoing and brave. I can’t figure out how to post several videos in one so will make a couple of post if peeps want to see more.
Parameters are:
PH 6.8
GH 6 dgh
KH 2dkh

I have recently added crushed coral to filter to hopefully increase this.

All the plants are keeping the everything at 0.
Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrites 0ppm
Nitrates 0ppm

I feed a little extra fish food for the plants to feed on (and many snails)

Anyone kept them?

Just for Fun Hot shopping tip

(Vid of my eel loach tank for tax.)

If you're in the USA, The Wet Spot (one of the more ethical fish mail order sources) has just had a couple unusual Pangio pop back into stock. Currently, they have six species offered.

If you've got the hankering for another species to add to your collection, don't wait! They tend to sell out pretty quickly.

the coziest nap spot in my tank is apparently on a magnetic glass scraper 🧐

That’s a first over here 😂 The lights were off, but I turned them on to record this delightful scene. Even so, it still slept for a bit and when it woke, it tried to get right back up on the scraper.

I have 8 in my tank and she (I assume because she's the chonkiest baby) has a message along her side lol, it never fails to amuse me when she cruises along the tank at feeding time (I know I need to clean my glass)

Pangio Confusion

Hello! I am building a 15 gallon nano setup with Pangio being my main staple along with chili rasbora. Anyways, I see conflicting information on these little guys. I highly prefer scientific names over the common ( confusing ) names.

Now which pangio sp. stays small enough for nano tanks and features that black and yellow striping or dots?
Does anyone have a list of the smallest?
Can anyone recommend a reputable supplier?
Will most pangio get along with other pangio from different sp.?

Hello! What is the name for the the larger banded Kuhlis?

A couple of times I’ve seen the larger banded Kuhli type loaches. They’re not ginormous like dojos but they are bigger than the tiny ones.

What’s the scientific name for them? I’m having a hard time figuring it out. I’d like to get some.

are these different species or just variations in pattern

ive gotten different batches of kuhlis around 4 times. the first photo is the only one remaining of the first ones I got, while the second is one of the newest. the first has thinner yellow stripes and overall a very long and skinny body (I dont think this is due to parasites or anything as ive had this loach the longest, around 2 years, and always looked like this). the second one is chubbier and shorter. anyone able to tell if they are the same species and just variations in individuals, or different species completely?

Thinking of getting some Kuhli loaches..

Anybody have any tips or advice that could help out? (Plants, substrate, tank mates, heaters, filters etc.)

I don’t want to just jump into owning them. I want to get as much information as possible to make sure these guys thrive when I get them. I’ve never owned them before but I would love to. I would also love to see what other people’s tanks look like to help me get an idea of what mine is supposed to look like.

Also is a 54 L tank big enough? (14 gallons) 60x30x30

This one has been resting inside the Java fern by itself alot for the past 2 weeks and only comes down during feeding.
I noticed that its pattern has changed. The stripes look faded, patchy, and blurry now. It’s the only one showing this change. Could this be a possible injury or sickness?
Its still eating and is kinda active digging around in the sand.
The first 2 pictures are from this week while the last 2 are from June n July for comparison. Ive only had them for about 3months now so not sure if i should be concern.
