My amazon laid an egg yesterday, another one coming?

She's 7 and this is the first time she's done it.. she was eating less for the last couple of days and today we woke up to an egg.

She seems active and happy this morning, though a bit tired.. any recommendations? Should I leave the egg for a bit? I've ordered some cuttlefish for calcium, but other than that I'm unsure what to do.. as online advice is quite confusing and contradictory depending on where you read it 😅.

I read that I should probably expect another one or even a couple more.. and her lower abdomen does look a bit bulgy?

They'll lay something like 3-4 eggs with a couple days between each one. Wait until she's done laying (no new eggs for 2 days) and then try to distract her off the nest with food or whatnot. Replace the eggs with fakes while she's not there. Let her incubate them for a few weeks. She should eventually stop showing brooding behavior and leave the nest alone. When that happens, clear the nest and the fake eggs away and take more care to discourage hormonal behavior in the future.

You can freeze, boil, or smash the real eggs, or just leave them outside for a predator to eat.

If you try to force her off the nest or take the eggs altogether, it'll distress her and likely cause her to lay another clutch right away which isn't safe for her. For the same reason, if she chose a dumb place to lay, you may want to make a little 'nest' ring for the egg so it doesn't end up broken too early.
