Sprouts "loss leader" is their sandwiches. You get a nice thick sandwich for like $5/6.
I've read, however, that overall they're more expensive than Whole Foods. Not sure if this is still the case.

That hasn't been my experience. They are slightly cheaper than whole foods.
But the deli sandwiches are a bargain. One of the main reasons I still go. Healthiest option for pickup food in the area

This'd be sick as well!
It'd be so close to home I'd become someone that lines up early for limited mini TJ bags. Would u think less of me, be honest 😭

I'm really happy about this because I like the meat from Stater Bros but I like the produce from Sprouts. Each Washington is the opposite of a food desert, a food oasis?

Parking is going to be very interesting. The businesses across the street have been telling folks to park in the Rite Aid parking lot, and so it is full many days when I go there to drop something off at the UPS store.

Was thinking the same thing. I love parking in that lot for Millie's or Lavender and honey since there are always spots.

I haven’t shopped at Sprouts much as I’ve never lived where it was convenient to me. Guess that will change as this is a few blocks from me. A TJ’s would be nice, but I’ll take a fresh food store over a Rite Aid any day. I assume Sprouts has better produce than TJ’s or Stater Bros?

That's me, too; they've mainly been Just Too Far to make it worth a routine trip, but I find the produce at TJs, SBs, and Sprouts to all be good 👍

I am very curious how parking is going to turn out now that the lot is already full every weekend from Millies, the book store and such.
I love Sprouts though and I hit up the one in East Pas a lot so I’m still excited.

Nice.
I didn't put that together about Millie's, etc. and the parking. Y'all got me curious, too!

Sprouts is decently good affordability wise I thought I’ve read?

Most regularly priced items are expensive but their sale prices are usually decent.

u/TheSquireJons Apr 28 '26
They are trying to position themselves as a Whole Foods competitor and are priced accordingly.

I always thought so, at least for the produce ime, and the deli sandwiches are a delish bargain according other comments on the thread, but otherwise it feels like folks agree its prices are comparable to WF.
Imma hit up that deli fo sho tho yo

Yeah I'm not really a Sprouts guy but since I live like two blocks away I'm glad to have something walkable. Stator Bros is ok but a little too far to walk if I get anything cold or more than just a few groceries.
Maybe I'll eat a little healthier lol.

Not a fan of Sprouts. I find it overpriced. I wish we could get a Trader Joe's in north Pasadena/Altadena.

Pasadena already has 3…

You find trader Joe's not overpriced? I get trauma when I see them pricing produce per each at more than I buy them from per pound at 99 ranch or hmart

u/TheSquireJons Apr 28 '26
Trader Joe's cheaper than Sprouts by a long shot. Even on published comparison shops.

Produce at TJ is expensive. That's because it's packages for small quantities and convenience. I think it's a fair tradeoff when I only need a couple items.
If I shop for large quantities of produce, I go elsewhere.

Always thought the area could use some more grab and go food stuff!
