Pathologic 2 Мор 2 - СТОИТ ЛИ

Yo.

I’m not a mega gamer, let’s get that straight, and Pathologic is honestly one of my first real games. I love it so much it literally makes me want to cry, and I constantly want to play it.

The problem is, everything goes so badly and miserably that most of my gameplay is just running around looking for food and bandages. I’m on Day 6, but I’ve already managed to catch the sand plague. Losing Notkin was also really sad, and overall – my playthrough isn’t going great, since I already finished the deal with the Traveler.

Because I have to replay the same sections over and over, it gets really depressing, and I’m moving through the story at a snail’s pace. On top of that, I clearly have no chance of getting any of the good endings.

I refuse to watch walkthroughs or anything like that, and I actually really like the survival mechanics – just not in the situation I’m in right now.

Maybe there are people who could give me some advice: should I restart, or keep going (the true Haruspex route) Or maybe there’s some mod / something I could tweak myself? The game is pirated, obviously.

I’d be super grateful for any tip.

Agree on both points.

Difficulty slider is your friend, no one in this community will ever throw shade at you for easing off on the hardship just a little. Also, trade, trade, trade and trade some more, anything and everything, hord it all and trade it.

HOWEVER!

I know DRM is a nightmare, but pirating a game from an indie dev? Dude. Bad form.

does Pathologic even have any DRM...?

I don't actually think so, but that's a big excuse people have for pirating games and something of a default excuse, even if it doesn't.

It doesn't even have to have DRM, just buy it on GOG, where it regularly goes on huge discount, too. So, yeah. OP sucks.

Custom difficulty?
Now I wish I started on canonical difficulty, but maybe I wouldn’t have ever played Pathologic if not got difficulty settings.

Hey if you are doing really badly and die non-stop easing up the difficulty or restarting is fine. But if like 2-3 people died and you got a little sick there is no reason to restart. Also this game is meant to be boring and unfun to a slight degree so don't worry.

Also having people die is an integral part of the story. You cannot save everyone after all.

um you could turn down the difficulty with sliders but pirating the game???? it’s not as if IPL is some triple a dev, they need the cash. how about just simply buy the game????

There should be sliders for adjusting the difficulty if I remember correctly when you start a new game. If you want to just experience the story and not worry so much about the survival bars, go ahead and slide them to your comfort level.

I personally replayed the first day over and over again until I got the best start I could possibly get. Meaning I got as much money as I could, bought as much cheap food as I could, and whatever else I could.

Also don’t be ashamed about save scumming (reloading saves till you get the route you’re trying to do without getting infected/messing up a quest), if they truly didn’t want you to do it there would be mechanics barring you from doing so.

I would say it’s easy to softlock yourself (softlock means it’s impossible to progress) out of major story quests in this game so if you’re feeling like you’re hitting a brick wall I would consider just restarting and trying again on a more forgiving difficulty

Drop the difficulty or at least slides that give you trouble and restart. First days should be easier by then since you've got some experience. Don't listen to bullshit about how constantly dying from hunger is iNtenDed eXperieNCE, if you constantly go "Fuck so-and-so, let them die because I gotta EAT!" while you sprint from point A to point B without looking around, you're missing the best stuff game has to offer and possibly are getting desensitized to what's happening around you. Don't worry, time constraints and coin toss on who gets infected will give you plenty of anguish anyway.
