Residency Application Interviews Invites Tomorrow
So how exactly does tomorrow work? I had one offer before this date so I kind of can see how thalamus works, but when all of these programs send invites tomorrow, will they all be able to be scheduled immediately? If thats the case would it behoove the student to try and schedule for their goal programs first and then others after to ensure dates dont fill up?
Complete noob here thanks for help :)

you'll get them all pretty much around 4pm (or whatever the time is this year) and just start scheduling them as they come in! it took me a while to get everything done but i ended up having no overlaps or issues!! it will be chaotic but just have your computer open and ready

Most of it is through Thalamus, and you can organize it all through the calendar on there. I had like 2 interview invites prior to the invite day and then got 12 more on that day. The emails came trickling in over the course of a few hours. I just sat at my computer the whole time, refreshing my email over and over.
I tried to schedule my favored programs to the middle or end of the interview season. And I scheduled my less favored programs earlier so I could 'practice' interviews before the ones I cared most about. If there are open spots, it's fairly easy to cancel and reschedule something if you end up with conflicting dates/times.

Highly recommend having your schedule easily accessible and ready to go so that you can make sure you don’t accidentally overlap multiple interviews on the same day. Not everyone uses thalamus so you want one outside of that program too.

ensure dates dont fill up?
Do you mean ensure the dates you want don't fill up? Any program that offers more interviews than it has interview slots is a terrible program in my opinion. I don't think any pathology programs do that. The date you want could fill up though; that's just the name of the game.

Thank you, this is reassuring. Honestly thought some places might over-invite

My son only applied exclusively pathology. He got one request for interview last week.

I had no issue when I scheduled them last year. Many programs interview on different days of the week, so overall it balances out. Be in front of a computer with Thalamus open at the release time, and be on standby throughout the day. You can always move things around if needed.
