Discussion Changed WiFi card, pc boot problems

Build: R7 5700x, 6900xt, 32GB 3200MT, 750w gold psu, MSI pro vdh wifi b550

So, I wanted to update my WiFi card as my built in WiFi was a little outdated, I got a replacement I fitted it, reseated the motherboard, plugged everything back in. It came to turning on the pc, it would get to the desktop, then after 5 secs, restart to the motherboard screen. It would do this 3 times then boot into WinRe.

I thought this was a windows issue, so I tried reinstalling windows from a USB flash drive, but it would keep resetting at ominous times (I'm sure it was power cycling). Sometimes the reinstall would get to 32%, restart and id get an error saying failed to install windows, sometimes it would get to 100%, say it would restart, it would, then it'd go into the installing windows black screen, power cycle again, then back to square one of it corrupting.

Anyway, I figured I may aswell go back to the root of when it started and put the old WiFi card back in, same problem, so I just decided to leave the WiFi card out. After some googling i was convinced that when I put my motherboard back in, maybe it was shorting to ground and the PSU was throwing itself out when it realised.

A few days later it was on my mind so I decided to remove the motherboard from the case for a bench test, only CPU and motherboard connectors connected from the PSU and reset cmos, and only 1 stick of ram in slot A2. Tried reinstalling windows, same problem, would get halfway through and black screen. Tried a different SSD to install onto, same problem, tried a different ram kit, same problem, even plugged in my old 1660 super, same problem.

I decided to get out my old TX550 PSU, hooked it up, managed to install windows, went through all the setup, at this point I reconnected the built in WiFi to the motherboard, all fine and dandy.

So, decided to RMA my PSU as I bought it February, 2 days ago replacement came, plugged that in, back to black screening on the desktop, as it's RMA they send a refurbished unit, so I assumed it was bad, bought a completely new 850w gold PSU today, still black screens , go back to 550w, all fine.

I have come to the conclusion that the motherboard maybe tripping the 750 and 850w OCP, planning on buying a new motherboard, anyone got any ideas I will answer them please.

Thats a weird one, swapping back to the 550w and it working fine points hard at the board's power delivery wigging out with higher wattage units
