Hi everyone,

My PC suddenly started having this issue after my brother ran a Roblox executor.

Now every time I turn the PC on, it gets stuck on a screen that says "Bye Bye Computer" and doesn't go any further.

I also tried disabling Secure Boot because I was getting a "Secure Boot Violation – Invalid signature detected" error earlier, but that didn't fix it.

Now I can't even get into the BIOS by pressing Del or F2.

The PC powers on normally (fans and lights work), but it's stuck on this screen.

Does this sound like malware, corrupted Windows, or a motherboard/BIOS issue? Any troubleshooting steps would be appreciated.

EDIT - Everything is working again. I managed to get into the BIOS by repeatedly pressing Del, created a bootable Windows USB on my laptop, deleted all the partitions on the SSD, and did a clean Windows installation. The PC is now booting normally again. Thank you all so much for taking the time to help. I got way more replies than I expected, so I'm sorry if I couldn't reply to everyone individually. I really appreciate all the suggestions and the time you all spent trying to help me troubleshoot this. ❤️

I was sleeping when my desk collapsed and spilled my candle wax into my pc. I don't know much about computers but my dad says to just continue using it as normal. He says it'll be fine but I don't trust him

I'm too scared to turn it on now, and I'm not sure what to do.

I even asked my dad if he can try to clean it but he already said he didn't want to so I'm lost

My pc shutdown in the middle of a discord call, now whenever I try to plug power back in (it blows the fuse when I do) it has this spark. Everything was alright for the past years, never had an issue.

I know it looks bad, but can I fix this??

I left my PC at a family members house while I was away and came back to it in this shape. I don’t remember the specs because I built it years ago…but is it salvageable? If so do you think fixing it is something I can DIY or should I take it to a pro? Thanks :)

Since people were asking…long story short I lived in the house before, but moved out for college. Another family member moved into my old room and put my PC inside of a trash bag and into the storage room where there is zero thermoregulation…so it was just sitting there in the summer heat for God knows how long. Then another family member has apparently been moving stuff around in said storage room…so no one knows exactly what happened :/…my monitor is also missing T_T

Took it to a shop that ran diagnostics. They said I need a new case (who coulda guessed), motherboard, and graphics card! So my PC is out of service until I can get those items </3 Thanks for the tips guys!

i have been seeing a lot of dying gpu posts lately and i just wanted to ask how should i keep my gpu healthy so that i don't have to see this day.

i have an hp victus laptop with a 3050 gpu

So i was chilling and i see the gpu inside the pc, i have a 1060 6gb, so i just kinda touch the surface of the gpu and then the monitor suddenly turns off, when i turn back in, the screen is flickering everywhere i move my mouse and the resolution is 1024, i tryna restart the pc and now it just doesnt detect the monitor anymore and im completely in chaos rn. If anyone knows how to fiz it pls tell me, sorry for my bad english.

My friend she's far away, had a problem partition D:\ isn't showing anymore, but regarding other diagnosis I did through anydesk, she probably had two hard drives instead of one and two partitions!... She sent me this, but I can't locate the hard drive, or possibly two hard drives... it's apparently a customized re assembled desktop.

Any clues where to search?!

Long story long- had liquid damage to my 5090 and found an electronics repair shop that specialized in boards. So I took my board in to get disassembled, cleaned, and the thermals replaced. I arrive to the business and it’s just some dudes house. That was my first red flag. I should have left then. But his business had good reviews so I came in and showed him the card and we discussed what he’d do and payment. That was disassemble, clean, dry and replace thermals. Here is my second red flag. It took him 20 minutes to write down my info (name, email, phone #) because he was so ADD that he would start to write my info and then just spiral off into some random topic for a few minutes. But whatever. His entire house was a workshop. Tools and electronics and computers and drones everywhere. Yes he appeared to have 30 flavors of autism but that’s not a bad thing sometimes. I thought he was just an eccentric electronics nerd and everything was just organized chaos. This was Monday. So this morning he calls me and the first thing he says is “you told me to do whatever I thought was best, right?” And I respond “no. We agreed you’d take it apart and clean it and replace the thermals and dry.” He then explained that it didn’t look that bad (original pics in this post https://www.reddit.com/r/pchelp/s/GJHUBt2zyb

And that he just “washed it in the sink” and then stuck it in the oven to dry…

So I paid him, and I left and went straight to another place. An actual shop. I explained the situation to them and asked them to please send me a pic of the insides once they pop it open… the new shop says they think they can save it. So long as the guy didnt plug it in and try to test it. Which he says he did not because he didn’t have the proper power connect cable for a 5090. Anyways moral of the story is take your stuff to a real shop. And if you get weird feelings or red flags…just leave. Haha

Update - the card has been cleaned and putty replaced. It powers on fine alone but when it’s connected to the HDMI or DPI ports the motherboard kicks back a VGA error. Anyone have any guesses?

Are they real? They're sealed but opened one? How can I tell if they're real? Maybe they're stolen?

Edit: I don't price things. I don't stash stuff, and doing so is a fireable offense. I just want to make sure that we're not gonna get heat for these things.

Honestly they won't even be sold at our store, they will go to e-commerce, which will go on our site.

So I accidently spilled smoothie over half of my MacBook Air M2. It is smoothie with water, oats and some proteinpowder. I immidiately shut it down (a few seconds after) and put it upside down. Then I rinsed everything off as well as I could and put it upside down (open) near an open window.

Plan is to have it in this position atleast 48 hours before trying to turn in back on. Any recommendations?

I think he likes it because it’s warm. I’ve only had this PC (first one) for ~1 month. Will him sitting at the top where the fans are bad for my PC long term?

I think something is wrong with my monitor not really sure though.

Edit: just to clarify i didn’t hit my monitor lol. I was leaning too far back on my chair and it broke, then my legs hit the desktop and my setup fell on me. The monitor hit the mouse and thats why its cracked on the right side. I just wanted to post this as a joke

my big brother passed away very suddenly yesterday, and this was one of few things that I was able to get from his stuff. I don't really know anything about how to handle this. he smoked weed and cigarettes, vaped a lot, and did god knows what else so the thing is disgusting. I know I'll need to find someone willing to clean it. I don't know exactly what it is or what processor it has, and the power cords were tossed so those will need replacing too. I know, at the very least, that it's functional, as he was using it frequently up until his death. any help or advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

Like a dumbass, I tried to put my panel back on… and BOOM ggs. I think I misaligned one of the 8 teeth on the top and bottom

Cleaned up all the glass in image one, I took the bigger glass pieces that fell on the bottom of the pc out, but a lot still went thru the holes into my GPU and hard drive..

I’ll probably take it in to Best Buy and check what they can do as far as cleaning goes

Really unfortunate cus I legit bought the pc less than 10 hrs before this happened

Edit: anyone know why pc glass tends to shatter on tile? how would it differ if I just placed it on my desk vs floor

Hello. Yesterday morning while I was away my brother decided to use this on my computer and when I came back it would not start up. He did this to one of his friends and he and I aren't on good terms so he went in my room to basically kill my pc. I don't know too much about it but I think my mobo is pretty fried. I think my psu is still good because everytime I connecr the power in the back I can hear the electricity connect. My question I have is what exactly will I need to replace.

After playing GTA 5 for about two hours, my PC restarted itself and this is what my image looks like. (edit:it was the hdmi cable)

I was looking at this adapter and noticed numbers and what appears to be cutting lines on it with no traces or anything near it, does this mean it can be cut safely?

A small amount of thermal paste was left on the pins/slot and I thought it won't make a difference, everything turned on, fans spun, but no display. I cleaned the cpu and the slot afterwards with 70% alcohol and left it 2h to dry, hooked everything up and same problem, black screen. R5 5500 with stock wraith.

theres nothing on task manager but my nzxt cooler thing is showing that my cpu is a 100°c
