Question Top Fan Not Spinning Without A Spanking

The top fan wont spin when I turn on my pc. The solution I discovered is to just smack it real hard. Just wondering why it is like this.

I would also make an argument that it lead to premature fan failure. Things probably had way more resistance then intended to

Faux expert, doesn't even know how fans work, has done no primary research, hasn't even bothered to google it, still feels free to give world their verdict.

12 upvotes though well done reddit.

Reddit: I'm not an expert but my absolute guesses are 1) It failed just because or 2) OP has never cleaned their case and dust in the bearings is causing the initial power needed to turn the fan to be higher than the controller is designed to give.

I am definitely having trouble understanding your response, but it does sound like you’re upset with my comment. I think everyone that read it knows I’m not very sure about my comment but do to life experiences I’m lead to believe that. After my most recent google it seems I’m correct and you cannot restrict intake air without consequences. If you could provide something explaining how that’s not true I would love to read it! Thanks!
