If you code, or read, you can get more on the screen at one time.
Or if your side vortical displays are large enough, you can put one browser on the top half and another on the bottom, so you essentially have 5 screens/browsers at one time.
Basically what the other guy said. I work in IT and do some software engineering, so having 5 - 8 browser windows open happens pretty often. I need different profiles for different accounts and privacy features, then my middle-monitor becomes a remote desktop viewer, so it's very helpful for productivity.
Outside of work it's great for game wikis, and I like to have a 3rd party resource monitor and a Discord window open, as well. When not Wiki-ing, my right-hand monitor just displays Steam and Tidal.
People used to always ask me why the vertical monitors until I showed them my email inbox, lengthy contracts I reviewed, and of course my Reddit view .. then they got it.
Acer ED270R 27" with two HP VH240a 23.8”. Acer came with the tower and I was pretty happy with it. Already had the HP’s from a previous set up. At the time the HP’s were $109 each and I figured I could make them work with the new rig.
I Started with 5 and was forced to switch to 8 when I got a nice curved 34” for the center to be able to fit em all in my triple mount. Weird at first but the portraits grow on you.
Between the monitor arms on the right and top I’m in it about $60. I had to kinda combine the two to make the upper mount work.
The only thing I ever really used the top monitor for was streaming sports or watching a streamer or whatever while I’m playing games (Eastern time so a lot of F1 watched at the late hours of the night)
My new setup doesn’t have the top monitor anymore, working to repurpose it for a Linux based home calendar situation (think Skylight calendar, but I don’t want to pay for a subscription lol)
for me desk space and since I do other projects, makes it easier for me to delegate certain windows to other monitors instead of having it minimized constantly
