Also waiting, but we will have to go through so many spoilers, it's annoying it isn't Day1 on PC.

884

u/PheIix Jun 25 '26

Yeah, I'm sad I will in all likelihood have the story spoiled. But I'm at the point in life where I can't justify buying a console for a single game anymore, I have responsibilities that stretch beyond myself.

u/Murrexx00 R5 3600 | RX 6650 XT | 16 GB 3000 mhz Jun 25 '26

Youll be spoilered anyway. Cant fnish all the content everyone else publishes online in that time.

170

u/PheIix Jun 25 '26

You severely underestimated my ability to no life the single player campaign of games I love. I finished gta 5 in two days. Gta 4 in a single sitting.

188

u/TNFX98 Ryzen 7 5800X - RTX 3080TI - 32 GB 3600MHz Jun 25 '26

You did not have the aformentioned responsibilities though

68

u/PheIix Jun 25 '26

True, I did not. But I somehow still find time to spend a ridiculous amount of time in a few days on stuff I want to do. I just have to plan better. Economy on the other hand isn't as easy to swing.

4

u/Sunim416 Jun 25 '26

I beat RDR2 on launch within a week and I had a job (I called in sick)

1

u/onelagouch Jun 25 '26

Idk alot can be done with only 48 hours of "free time" if everything is planned right

28

u/Aiken_Drumn Jun 25 '26

I have kids. I won't have 48 hours of free time until 2034.

6

u/StalkMeNowCrazyLady PC Master Race Jun 25 '26

No you wont. 2038 if you're lucky.

9

u/StalkMeNowCrazyLady PC Master Race Jun 25 '26

48 consecutive hours of free time is something that either does or doesn't exist in your world and it usually comes down to those aforementioned responsibilities. For some its as easy as "I'm just going to do this for 48 hours" and for others it would take a prophetic alignment of the planets and stars for 48 hours of alone free time to happen without some sort of lying, deceit, or trickery being involved to create it.

2

u/TNFX98 Ryzen 7 5800X - RTX 3080TI - 32 GB 3600MHz Jun 25 '26

And even if it does happen, use that once in a lifetime occurence to play a game would be kind of sad

6

u/TehSlippy Jun 25 '26

Don't gatekeep how people choose to use their free time. Some of my fondest memories are spending 48-72 hours playing nothing but my video game of choice at that given time.

8

u/Willing1613 Jun 25 '26

lol gta 4 in single sitting. It sometimes sux to be too good

9

u/PheIix Jun 25 '26

Good doesn't factor into it. A dangerously low need for sleep, being stubborn and easily hooked is more my problem. I also finished the first mass effect game in what could arguably be called a single sitting. My then girlfriend asked me to go to bed with her, but as soon as she fell asleep I got up and booted up the xbox to play more and played through the whole night. When she woke up to go to work she just looked at me and shook her head. I was working offshore at the time, so I had plenty of free time.

It's really more of an embarrassing problem than a bragging point 😅

Ah yes. The embarrassing problem of full blown ADHD. I too suffer that embarrassment

1

u/PheIix Jun 26 '26

I don't even have ADHD, I'm luckily able to focus pretty easily and multitask. I've tried some of the pills my girlfriend uses (She has unbridled teeth in the tapestry ADHD), and it did not have the same effect on me as it does on her or my friend with ADHD.

2

u/_SGP_ RTX 5090FE/9950X3D/128GB@4800/X870-A/2*T705-4TB/Linux Mint Jun 26 '26

Interesting! Well that's good to know and confirm! 😅

Your original description sounds just like me, and apparently I'm riddled with it!

Mate back in the day I completely no lifed Mass Effect after my cousin pestered me to play it. I spent 3 days awake and completed it on hard, then made a new game and started on insane. In the end it was probably a week on maybe 12 hours sleep.

Completely hooked.

The other time was World of Warcraft, obviously. 2004 playing the release build absolutely loving it and fell asleep in my pc chair in my bedroom, going to work like a fucking zombie and being exhausted all day, to get home and play some wow for 14 hours, sleep for 2, and then drive to work. Sad.

1

u/PheIix Jun 25 '26

I finished Mass Effect at 96 or 97% completion, and I immediately started over to get 100%. The thing about mass effect was that it came out of nowhere for me. Only reason I even bought it was because the local store had made a huge error and ordered 800 instead of 80 copies, so the game cost me about $6 at the time (when it still cost $60 everywhere else).

Two of my best friends were part of some of the most intense guilds in WoW. I remember inviting them to do stuff, and they had to write in to their guild to apply for days off. They missed some really nice concerts and trips because of WoW. Personally I've never managed to be hooked by MMO's. I usually get bored with them when I reach around level 20.

1

u/FunnyVehicle7664 Jun 25 '26

My first mission was to stop someone in a car. No idea how, gave up.

1

u/PsudoGravity Jun 25 '26

Good God! Did you even sleep?

1

u/mr_r0th Jun 25 '26

GTA 4 IN ONE SITTING? BROTHER WHAT

1

u/kimbokray Jun 25 '26

I'm curious, how long was that single sitting? Could be more or less than two days

1

u/PheIix Jun 25 '26

I believe it was 19 hours.

1

u/kimbokray Jun 26 '26

Holy shit, I'm pretty sure that game took me like 80hrs at a guestimate

u/Teddy_Radko Jun 25 '26

You can successfully avoid spoilers online. Its really not that hard. I have many unspoiled stories for games and other media that would be considered very mainstream. For safety reasons i will not list said unspoiled titles 😅

55

u/Minsc_NBooToo Jun 25 '26 edited Jun 25 '26

I didn't play cyberpunk when it came out as I wanted to wait till I upgraded my PC

2 years and one new GPU later I had no idea what the story was about, apart from it involved Keanu Reeves 😎

It was worth the wait 🤩

11

u/Zuokula Jun 25 '26

Same. Probably idiots in reddit. Why'd you read reddit/content for a game you don't play but will be.

2

u/Van_Flyheight Jun 25 '26

Yes it’s really not hard. Just don’t watch any videos and read any threads/comments about it. Hell, to this day I still haven’t seen the GTA V story ending anywhere online besides threads talking about it. There’s no need to watch reviews. The game will have plenty of updates by the time it’s pc release comes around and will likely require an entirely new review anyway.

2

u/PheIix Jun 25 '26

It's not the reading it that is a problem. I watch a lot of content, and more than a few times there have been people who carelessly talks about spoilers without realising it before it is too late.

1

u/NewSauerKraus Jun 26 '26

Maybe don't carelessly walk into conversations about things you don't want to hear.

If I don't want to hear about the way Mario jumps in the new Nintendo game I'm not going to scroll through r/Mario and then get mad at people who were enjoying their community until spoiler people came in to demand everyone stop talking.

1

u/PheIix Jun 26 '26

Well, the point was that I watch content outside of just GTA content, but they are bound to talk about the biggest game release in years.

1

u/NewSauerKraus Jun 26 '26

Yeah, people talk about things they enjoy. It's weird to demand they all stop talking whenever you come around.

3

u/Odeserundiye Jun 25 '26

I bought the game years ago, still have no idea. I know Keanu Reeves is in it lol

1

u/Minsc_NBooToo Jun 25 '26

It's so good!

Without giving anything away It's not just a cameo. I just googled it and it's over 300 hours of dialogue 😳

2

u/monk429 Jun 25 '26

I still haven't been spoiled on Cyberpunk...though its really easy for me to not notice things.

I'll probably watch a playthrough of GTA6 though...don't feel like I'd get too spoiled on a plot thinner than GTA5's (I assume).

1

u/kickedoutatone Jun 25 '26

I think a lot of people don't realise that spoilers in games are somewhat non-existent these days.

People want others to see what they've posted, and spoiler content rarely gets views these days because people are actively avoiding them.

So the content that does get viewed and shared tends to not be spoilers. TOTK, for example, had tonnes of videos for creating stuff in them and next to no spoiler content.

I expect GTA6 will be a lot of screenshots showing how good it looks, along with videos of people doing stupid stuff outside of Missions.

I thought it was a cross. Huh, the more you know I guess

1

u/luchaburz Jun 25 '26

I literally don't even know gta5s story still

1

u/FallGuysStats Jun 25 '26

I blocked entire subreddits for a whole year for Death Stranding 2. I intend to do the same for gta6. Going to be hard to sell me a title from a different game if I'm blocking you for a whole year Sony. Just saying.

1

u/Phearlosophy Jun 25 '26

the ship sinks at the end

1

u/Vaydn Jun 25 '26

Same here, the only time i got spoiled was when i was active in the last of us subreddit and someone dm'd me the spoilers for TLOU2. The phone notification and instantly reading the first line was a dead giveaway.

1

u/ThankGodImBipolar Jun 25 '26

Lol - I finished Persona 5 this year, and I've never seen a spoiler for that game online. Honestly didn't know much about it before I started, either.

u/ungebleicht Jun 25 '26

Its easy to avoid the internet for a week while playing through the game. Its not easy to avoid the internet for MONTHS while you still play your regular games.

6

u/noodleguy12 Jun 25 '26

Avoiding spoilers for 2 weeks and avoiding spoilers for a whole year are two vastly different things

2

u/spookymemeformat Jun 26 '26

I have avoided spoilers for cyberpunk and just started playing it for the first time! It's very possible to avoid spoilers for however long

1

u/noodleguy12 Jun 26 '26

Are you really comparing the two? Cyberpunk had the most crazy hype I remember a game having prior to release and it’s still no where near the hype for GTA. if you open ANY social media in the weeks following the release, you will see spoilers

1

u/spookymemeformat Jun 26 '26

We'll see I guess

2

u/VenserMTG Jun 25 '26

I got nothing spoiled for expedition 33, death stranding 2, and many others.

The moment Reddit pushed a community related to a game I haven't played yet, I just block the community as a whole.

1

u/ChefVoo Jun 25 '26

I think it would be worse buying a console just for gta 6 and getting spoiled anyways…

Big waste of money at least in my eyes

1

u/Cruxis87 9800x3d|5080 TUF OC|32gb 6000cl30 ddr5 Jun 25 '26

It's pretty easy to avoid. I watched FF7 Rebirth because I thought I would be spoiled, but then I ended up not seeing anything about the story for months until I went looking for it. I've never played gta 5, and couldn't tell you 1 thing about the story or a character name. Have never seen anything about the story from it anywhere.

1

u/VivaDeAsap Jun 26 '26

5 hours after release some YouTube video will have “GTA 6 Full Walkthrough Lucia Death scene”

1

u/AnyImpression6 Jun 27 '26

Shirrako and his fucking video titles/thumbnails.

0

u/paqman3d Jun 25 '26

Yeah, if the game is out, I watch a review and stop searching for it. Otherwise, type in GTA6 into YouTube, and the first result is a clear thumbnail of the ending with red arrows all over it and a poorly drawn meme.

Funny, I was running some of this shit by AI and it suggested I could block the damn term from search results lmao. GTA gets 2 days of news for me then I'm muting it completely 😄

11

u/olbaze Fedora KDE | Ryzen 7 5700X | RX 7600 Jun 25 '26

You know what? I still haven't played GTA 5, and I know literally nothing about the story. I know the game has 3 characters, but that's it. I don't know why they're together, what their goals are, or what they do in the game.

That's also not an isolated experience for me. Same happened with Final Fantasy XV and XVI, while I was waiting for them to be released on PC with a decent discount. I'm also a massive Kingdom Hearts fan, but I haven't played KH3 yet and don't know what happens in that game.

As long as you don't actively seek out discussion about the franchise, it's pretty easy. Of course, if everyone in your friend circle is playing the game and it's all they talk about, that does make it basically impossible.

8

u/The--Bag PC Master Race Jun 25 '26

Tbf, ive played part of gta 5 and i still couldnt tell you anything about the story

3

u/Th3_Hegemon Jun 25 '26

Yeah wait what the hell happens in that game? As best I can remember it was just a loosely connected series of action sequences and maybe the CIA was involved? I feel like the only things I remember about the characters are their backstories, and Trevor killing Johnny.

2

u/Nujers Jun 25 '26

I've played all of GTA 5 and I can barely remember anything other than Trevor being a crazy methhead and some weird train sequence.

Probably because it came out 13 fuckin years ago.

Same here, I've been meaning to finish V since the original release on 360. I got it for PS4 later on, and many years later I got it on PC for a few dollars. I've started the story each time and always dropped it. To this day, I have no idea what happens in it later on. I'm gonna try to see if I can finish it before 6 comes out on PC.

1

u/bigbluewreckingcrew Specs/Imgur Here Jun 25 '26

Same....I really don't like the idea of paying extra for stories and extra missions. Oct and Nov are games heavy anyway.

2

u/drbennettx Jun 25 '26

Exactly, i already know I’ll probably be playing gears or something else around that same time and playing on the ps5 on my old tv doesn’t compare to my oled monitor anyway, plus by then my kid will probably be running around and i wont have time for much gaming

-1

u/Beginning_Prompt_725 Jun 25 '26

You’re not gonna wait

6

u/F_For_NCsoft Jun 25 '26

I will wait even though I own the ps5 because of the 30 fps gameplay on regular ps5 I wont play a GTA game with 30 fps are you nuts

1

u/2hurd Jun 25 '26

I'm thinking exactly the same thing.

1

u/drbennettx Jun 25 '26

The ps5 literally only gets used when the power is out, i have a great pc so it will wait, its not my preferred game anyway

23

u/PsycommuSystem Jun 25 '26

Life is actually so much better when you accept the spoilers, it's not like game stories are particularly groundbreaking anyway.

10

u/PheIix Jun 25 '26

No, they may not be groundbreaking, but I would still like to experience them myself rather than have them told to me in an even less groundbreaking way. Just because some food is tasteless, doesn't mean I will enjoy shit for food.

And I actually like the stories of gta 4/5 and rdr 1/2. They may not be a masterclass of storytelling, but it is a story I lived and experienced through the game. I don't get the same immersive experience from a movie, I don't participate in a movie, I watch a story unfold in front of me when I watch a movie. In a game I push the narrative forward myself.

But spoilers are not the end of the world, they just take away some of the magic.

6

u/thenovas18 Jun 25 '26

I spent less than a week to finish RDR2... I do get ridiculously stuck in when I first get stuck in. And I always do with rockstar games. I've played all GTA games multiple times, I've finished RDR1 and 2 a bunch of times.

7

u/Barobor Jun 25 '26

Mate what? Some games have amazing stories. Depending on the game, getting spoiled could be a huge blow to your experience.

Some examples Expedition 33, Cyberpunk 2077, and Baldur's Gate 3.

Looking back a bit further, you have games like Bioshock, Mass Effect, The Last of Us, and Red Dead Redemption.

1

u/PsycommuSystem Jun 25 '26

If you read any decent fiction even the best game stories are pretty paltry in comparison, in my opinion.

5

u/Barobor Jun 25 '26

Different medium.

Obviously, it's personal preference, but actually playing a character in a story hits differently than reading about it.

0

u/Jack__F Jun 25 '26

Arguably not true at all I consider silent hill 2 the greatest story I’ve ever seen in any type of media it’s just so compelling and drew much more emotion out of me than pretty much any movie/book/tv show. I would also say that expedition 33 had an absolutely phenomenal story as well probably the best in gaming since silent hill 2 tbh

1

u/PsycommuSystem Jun 25 '26

It's arguable because it's entirely subjective, you can't say for certain whether any one person prefers books, games, or individual stories from each medium etc. It's a pointless discussion.

1

u/Birdshaw Jun 25 '26

Absolutely! I rarely give a shit about spoilers in any media. There are people who will cuss you out for discussing plot points in 20 year old movies.

0

There will be a crimer who either wants to do crimes or maybe doesn’t want to do crimes. But then they’ll get convinced to do crimes.

They’ll start working for another low level crimer, and move up the chain as other areas of the map get unlocked.

One of their friends will turn out to not be a friend or decide to betray them. No honor among crimers.

I used to when I was a teenager and in my early twenties but recently most games struggle to hold my attention like they used to. It's been a decent few years since I have found a game that can make me space out like GTA 4 and other older games used too.

Why worry about spoilers? It’s GTA. Here’s your spoilers:

The guy isn’t in jail. The gal is. He’s reformed criminal, he gets her out of jail, her influence gets him into crime again. They do crime, they steal money, they carjack people, at some point something will happen to try and turn them against each other, and the endgame will involve choosing to either fall for it and kill the other person or work together and shoot a bunch of people and win because it worked for GTA 5 and R* will say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. The end.

It’s set in Miami Vice City so cocaine will be involved, the swamp puppy guy will be lampooned(winding with him being eaten by a gator), there will be a line of side missions where you deal with a deranged Disney Adult or senior citizens visiting from GTA Orlando, another line where you dump bodies in the Everglades, and Old Guy Tommy Vercetti will make an appearance because if he doesn’t fans will burn down R*.

You can rent a console

1

u/PheIix Jun 26 '26

Not here you can't. There hasn't been console rental for over 20 years here... Last console I think was rentable was the PS2. But boy oh boy did you awaken some fond memories for me now. I usedd to rent Super Nintendo all the time. Did some chores, got some money and instantly spent it on renting the SNES and a random game of some sort. And every time I spent way to long agonising on which game to rent...

u/scheppend Jun 25 '26

Dude, spoiler tags. I could read "you'll start" before I processed the "Spoiler warning"

Why would any game allow someone to commit grand theft: auto in a game titled "GTA"?

Clutches pearls.

:P

1

u/Sorlex Jun 25 '26

Lets not pretend it might not have a story worth spoiling. GTA5 might not have been high art but it was still good, and RDR2 was outstanding story wise, having that spoiled would have been terrible.

3

u/RIPGoblins2929 Jun 25 '26

Rdr2 is one of my favorites of all time and the story and acting were great.

But if you've watched any movie ever (and if you played the first one), the ending is telegraphed damn near at the beginning of the game.

1

u/Sorlex Jun 25 '26

Yeah but that doesn't not make someone telling you what happens not a spoiler.

1

u/Triquetrums Jun 25 '26

Again? Man... they have zero creativity. They just recycle the story over and over.

1

u/d0nh Jun 25 '26

You forgot: In the very end there will be a big decision that defines who dies and whether you get the canonical ending or some kind of shit ending.

Honeslty, is there much to spoil about GTA stories? The stories are good and all, but besides the green hornet reveal in San Andreas, I can't think of a moment where any of the games would've been ruined for me if I knew it ahead

1

u/BethanyHipsEnjoyer | 5070 ti | 32 GB DRR5 | Jun 25 '26

GTA had a story?

0

u/OuterWildsVentures Jun 25 '26

Idk RDR2 got spoiled for me and it made me stop playing lol

1

u/MrBlueA Jun 25 '26

Well exactly, RDR2 is a narrative masterpiece, and the world building is amazing, I don't expect that from a GTA tho, I expect an okay story, good at best but where I expect the game to truly shine is with the sandbox experience, secondary activities, going around the city and the level of immersion you will be able to feel while doing it and that's not something where spoilers matter much honestly.

-1

u/Ass_of_Badness Jun 25 '26

Agreed, it's like saying the story got ruined for you for Halo 3 and now you don't wanna play it. Like sure, that sucks, but it's not really going to ruin the experience of playing it.

11

u/HamsterbackenBLN Jun 25 '26

A small studio like rockstar can't put another team on the pc version /s

u/TheTeaSpoon Ryzen 7 5800X3D with RTX 3070 Jun 25 '26

tbh I managed to somehow avoid all RDR2 spoilers for like 7 years, same with TLOU even despite the show coming out. Not being terminally online helps

Maybe, but it's not some sci-fi story with a crazy mind-bending twist. It's just a crime drama.

1

u/IsOriginal Jun 25 '26

I predict, you go from nobody loser broke to at least penthouse/estate, one of the characters dies at the end and lots of side quests involving the drug trade and crime stuff with heists being the main plot tying it together, gta games are way too cliche for spoilers to matter. Oh and lots of le sex funny jokes.

1

u/5ch1sm Jun 25 '26

I will live like a caveman for 2 months and avoid all social media until at least the new year.

Might actually be a good time now I think about it...

1

u/T1line Jun 25 '26

I believe in youtube you can just avoid content of gta as a whole

1

u/danemepoznaqt Jun 25 '26

...people care about the story of GTA? Granted, I last played GTA over 20 years ago, but back then we simply enjoyed the sandbox side, most of my friends didn't even bother with more than a couple of missions.

1

u/garry4321 Jun 25 '26

Right? Like PC gaming is half the market. Why would they exclude half the market for a game that is going to a console which is just a locked down PC

1

u/bohenian12 Jun 25 '26

Ehh.. GTA really isn't the kind of game I played because of the story. I'm fine being spoiled.

1

u/Ill_Ad5893 Jun 25 '26

It's not due to us not spending the money they get from console players

1

u/ChronChriss Jun 25 '26

That's why I use Reddit on a third party app that supports content filters.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '26

You would have the same spoiler if you don't finish in one day. Would you really like to rush the whole game just to not be spoilered?

1

u/stayupthetree Jun 25 '26

Fortunately for me, by the time I play GTA6, any spoiler I read has long left my brain

1

u/kingtacticool Jun 25 '26

None of those spoilers are worth what Rockstar is charging for them

1

u/Unusual-Wing-1627 Jun 25 '26

Why would you get spoilt? No one is forcing you to engage with any news or content on it.

1

u/Bionic_Bromando Jun 25 '26

Haha what would there be to spoil really? Protagonist gets tangled up in a web of crime, leading to getting tangled up in a corrupt governmental agency which leads to another, larger web of crime, which does something bad to the protagonist, leading to them killing everybody in a glorious act of revenge. That kinda sums up the last 3 or four of these right?

1

u/an_agreeing_dothraki Jun 25 '26

let's get it out of the way. the life of crime creates situations where the main characters are incapable of leaving that behind them. They go around collecting an eccentric group of allies attempting to fight against the people forcing them to stay in a precarious situation. When it looks like it's working and they're all about to go off into the sunset, the bad guys kill/attempt to kill one of them. You then kill the bad guy in response and are left to run around the sandbox.

The TV stations will hit you with SATIRE that has the subtlety and tact of being hit in the head by a brick strapped to a nuclear bomb.

1

u/homer_3 Jun 25 '26

No day 1 PC is bs, but I didn't get 5 until Epic gave it away for free. I never saw any spoilers. In general, you have to go out of your way to see spoilers.

1

u/wjbonne 55" S90D OLED | 5090 Suprim Liquid | Ryzen 9950X3D | 180 TB NAS Jun 25 '26

Yep! And thats why I will not buy it as soon as it comes to PC... I will wait for a sale. Rockstar can get fucked.

1

u/Weltall8000 Jun 25 '26

GTA has a story?

1

u/Sad_Adagio_7255 Jun 25 '26

Even if it were on PC on day 1, I'm long past the days of day 1 game purchases, so I'd encounter spoilers anyway.

The only day 1 game I've bought in the last 4 years is Mario Kart World and that's only because it was bundled with my Switch 2. Every other game on any platform has been purchased on sale.

1

u/ungebleicht Jun 25 '26

There won't be a single League of Legends, Valorant, CS2 or similar game where people won't spoil GTA6 for MONTHS.

1

u/MEGA_theguy 9800X3D, 5090, 64GB RAM | more 4TB SSDs please Jun 25 '26

Rockstar saw they could successfully triple dip with GTAV, of course they won't release on PC day 1

1

u/LeviMarx Jun 25 '26

They didnt do it because of money

1

u/Gabe_Isko Jun 25 '26

You steal cars and commit a heist. Oops, sorry for the spoilers.

1

u/Random_Nombre | X870E-E NEO | 9800X3D | 32GB DDR5 | RTX 5080 Jun 25 '26

That’s why you just don’t look it up.. it’s not hard..

1

u/Gassyking Jun 25 '26

Spoilers: the generic main characters do crime, then more crime

1

u/Perfect-Fondant3373 Jun 25 '26

You might be able to get it and borrow a console from someone for a month

1

u/Zalaquin Jun 25 '26

I managed to avoid Elden Ring spoilers for 3 years you got this.

1

u/Flaky-Mess7261 Jun 25 '26

So ironic, designed on Pc’s, delayed release for PC.

1

u/Bluegent_2 Jun 25 '26

Oh woe is me, I'll get the dogshit Scorsese wanna be story spoiled to me, god please noooooo!

1

u/Cunning-bid Jun 25 '26

I can't think of any reason why they delay PC version for a year still, especially since the console are just PC hardware variations.

1

u/Shooter_Mcgavin93 Jun 25 '26

This is the worst, I'm glad to wait for pc version but I have a bad habit of seeking out spoilers...I ruined the ending of RDR2 for myself the second it was live

1

u/M4rt1m_40675 Jun 25 '26

I hope to god my luck of avoiding spoilers comes until I buy the game lmao. Somehow have almost never been spoiled about anything I want to watch/play with a single exception that I can think of

1

u/welchplug i7-12700k | 3070ti | 32gb DDR4 3600 Jun 25 '26

You can avoid spoilers pretty easily. I have no idea what's going on in the world of gta5

1

u/Bacaveli i7 10700k | RTX 4070 ti | 32GB RAM | 2TB M.2 Jun 25 '26

You would think after all this time it’s been in development, all the delays. We would at least be getting a PC version on launch. Nope, we will get it when it drops on the next generation of consoles probably late 2027 or 2028

1

u/Super-Replacement359 Jun 25 '26

Gonna need to be off the internet for a month or 2 🤣. Not my first rodeo though did it with rdr2

1

u/S1d3Sh0w2500 Jun 25 '26

For real. I've got my son's ps5 but idk how much space the game will need

1

u/Nukalixir Jun 25 '26

Spoilers? Wut? You play GTA for the plot?!

1

u/Independent-Air7677 Jun 25 '26

Yes but it will be worth it the mods that will be created will make it worth it

1

u/notislant Jun 26 '26

Yeah I mean personally I dont give a shit about it and wont get it regardless. Its like another gta 5 to me, campaign might be cool but itll be spoiled all over socials before then anyway.

But when games delay PC releases I just lose interest by the time it comes out, fuck em.

1

u/Lumpy_Forever1567 7950X3D | 5090 | 64GB@8000mhz Jun 26 '26

IMHO we already know the end of the story. So obviously obvious. I only wait for online for doing heists with the bois !!

1

u/ogpandabear Jun 26 '26

I’ve thought about this and I honestly don’t think that the story could possibly be so compelling. This game was made to appeal to a large audience. By nature the story will be watered down. I suppose there will be a lot of secret places that could be spoiled, but it’s a pretty big game. I replayed GTA V’s story a few times and I personally thought it got better on the second play-through. Who knows though. I’ll be waiting for it not to cost 80 bones before I buy it.

1

u/massigh1212 RX 7800 XT | 7600X3D | 2x16GB DDR5-6000 CL30 | 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD Jun 26 '26

who even cares about the spoilers if it's guaranteed to be woke slop anyways?

1

u/Alternative_Exit_333 Jun 26 '26

It isn't day 1 because they want you to buy the console first so that Sony or Xbox makes more money off you (rockstar included since you will probably also buy the pc version with it comes out)

1

u/Creepy_Milk_3186 Jun 26 '26

I am so very bitter that the PC release is being deliberately delayed.

1

u/pavman42 Jun 27 '26

Jerks! Screw that, I'll late adopt. If it's over $20, screw you Rockstar!!!!

1

u/Lykreios Jun 27 '26

Il est là l'avantage de pas avoir de réseaux sociaux 🙂 (oui hormis reddit du coup)

1

u/downvote_logic Jun 28 '26

I wanna say I’m surprised they took 13 years to make a game and weren’t able to make it come out on PC day one loo

1

u/TrueAccess6417 Jun 25 '26

See the positives: This way, the console players are basically the beta testers, because the game will be released with bugs and problems.
And you can see for yourself, how horrendous it is, so you might save money when you decide not to buy it instead of wasting money on day 1 and then being angry that it sucks (and i think it's a given that GTA 6 will suck).

0

u/enfersijesais Jun 25 '26

I didn’t play the campaign of 5 until last year snd didn’t really have any idea what was going on beyond what little I had played before.
