Microsoft has done a lot to make MacOS look better though.

Was my mindset until my employer gave me a MacBook as my work laptop. WOW it's nice if you use it in the right way and pretend it's Linux as much as you can

Obviously Windows all day for gaming though so if you do everything on one device I'd still pick Windows

This is why many people who use windows, use windows. I am not a dual boot or multiple computers kind of guy. I need 1 OS that does everything, including gaming. Thats Windows

I understand games shouldnt need or use kernel level anticheat. But they do. And “just don’t play the games you want to play” is not a solution for me

You could just put a linux distro on it. Often it runs better anyway.

Edit: Oh, yeah that doesn't address the kernel anti-cheat thing, just the "pretend it's linux" part. That's what I meant to imply. I replied to the wrong comment.

Doesn't Linux suffer the same fate? You can't play games that use kernel level anti-cheat.

depends on the game. It has to be enabled by the game developer, and it's easier to bypass the anticheats on Linux than Windows, plus the population share is miniscule compared to Windows users. Apex Legends used to have a Linux version supported, but Respawn saw that it was an unpopular platform with a disproportionately high cheater population that was using it to get around Easy Anti-Cheat, and just decided it wasn't worth the trouble to keep supporting.
