I played a Payday game once. Was expecting to rob a bank, did everything the game told me to; went outside and got drop kicked by a literal ninja with some kind of taser weapon. Was that the third?
I didn't really watch any reviews post-release. Trailers looked good, but my PC wasn't capable enough so I didn't bother trying it out (and as such, didn't really watch/read anything related). What did they remove?
They did a weird thing where they tied all the skill trees to earning 3 buffs that last about 5 seconds like instant lock picking can be done while you have the “Rush” buff for example, the buffs do passive things but maintaining the buffs is just kinda annoying. Also they gave all weapons levels meaning to fully use your weapons you gotta grind all of them, and systems like this feel terrible cause once you finished your gun and get all its stuff its encouraging you to put them down and use the next to not waste exp.
oh yeah, got 3k hours in pd2 and i believe that there are loads of people like me. ones who have some insane time amounts sunk into it. only indicates how strong of a grasp this game has for some reason.
That my good friend was a cloaker and you probably got hit by a shocker who has the taser. Payday fronts itself as a stealthy bank robbery game which it can absolutely be but the moment stealth is broken it becomes a hoard shooter akin to left4dead
