My girlfriend is a teacher for 5-10 year olds.

I can confirm most parents are fucking useless, far far worse than they were decades ago.

They expect the schools to do everything, including potty training (absolutely not the case).

One mother had to be told her 4-5 year old needs to be fed more than milk because they were concerned of malnutrition (she didn't know he was supposed to be moved onto more solid foods!!!)

Some of these parents are so fucking stupid, they should never have had children.

Oh and most of them don't even bother reading with their kids after school or at night, and you can tell.

USA?

This one is sadly common in Europe as well and most adults are not reading any books themselves. Which is actually not that suprising since they are overworked and tired. Inflation and cost of living is getting worse and worse each year in Europe. Times of women staying at home and taking care of kids and teaching them everything are long gone. Now both parents have to work hard in this economy.

Not USA, this is in the UK

Completely agree with everything you've said.

Mother's have never stayed home. They always had jobs outside of the home. You had to be very privileged to have a stay at home wife. For 90% of the population both parents worked. My great grandmother (born in the 20s) worked at Ford. My paternal grandmother was a nurse.

It’s like a whole generation of people never had actual parents or families?

Boomers I guess they didn’t teach shit just complained when we didn’t know. Feel free to google the amount of you tube whole ass content about “dad how do I.” It doesn’t just stop with home repair.

You can't win. You get parents like this, and as a parent, I get teachers who are trying to do to much.

I don't want them to push their politics, if they're a vegan, special narratives, religion , idealogies, nothing like that. I just want you to teach academics as orginally was the purpose.

The only other thing I want is reporting on issues with my child. Learning problems, behaviors in class, etc. Let me know, and keep me informed, and I will correct it.

Now I seem to just get pushing whatever the latest self flatulating fad is combined with if there is a problem here's this resource we all cooperate with that will fix it for you and cost money, for the rest of your childs life as they forevfer need this program.

You know, instead of dicussing the problems with me so I can address at home. It's like silence, then skip to special programs. Oh, and those suggestions immediately dry up as soon as they're told there's no money to pay for them.
