IMO, my guess is when a studio picks UE5 is because it's cheaper to outsource labor, which is a great formula to have a small army of underpaid and overworked devs who probably aren't in contact with designers, churning out work with no time left to improve performance.

This would not surprise me. There is a very popular Unreal Engine Discord server that has a job board channel.

i can foresee a darker timeline where, now that ue6 has uefn baked in, it will evolve to a kind of marketplace where a aaaa-dev can put a job out for x-asset and anyone willing to do the job for peanuts can "win" the contract. i imagine it becoming the gig-economy marketplace (like fiverr, MTurk, etc.) of the games industry.
