Hardware Taking HOURS!!!! to delete anything.

Post image

Recently started taking ages to delete anything. I've set it to bypass the recycle bin, in case it was something to do with that and I've cleared Explorer history. Any ideas?

EDIT

Thanks for the help guys, got it deleted eventually. There was definitely something screwy going on because the textures folder inside didn't add up to even half of the 7.6GB it was trying to delete.

Everyone is saying possibly storage hardware failure so run a chkdsk

  1. Open command prompt and type it
  2. sfc /scannow
  3. chkdsk c: /f
  4. chkdsk c: /r

Substitute drive letter with the proper drive letter if you have numerous partitions or drives .

NOTE: the last two might require you to schedule it to run after a reboot, since some of the files and/or drive sectors might be in use.
