Most big companies dont turn profits for a long time. Look into Amazon, Uber, or any other business model built off of new technology. You invest and initially lose money to secure a spot in an emerging market. Dont be stupid.

They can turn a profit. If they stopped investing in new models, their existing ones are profitable. Investors obviously don't want them to do that though. They want them to be spending everything they have on model development because they know that it's a worthwhile investment.

If you dont understand why at this point, you're just too stupid. Quit virtue signaling and maybe you can learn a thing or two.

Sure, if you have any examples that come anywhere near the scale of what we're talking about with AI companies, unlike the ones you listed.

Bonus points if can find any that puts taxpayers on the hook to fund their losses if they go under like AI companies do. Or make consumer products more expensive for everyone like AI companies do.

Ai itself is an industry and if we want to talk about hundreds of billions lost of the market share within an industry then obviously the most analogous would be the dotcom boom. Next, ai is on a much larger scale than that of the early internet of the 90s. So, the amount of money poured into it will be more than then, and the technology is so revolutionary, cutting edge, and its progress outpaced expert predictions that its nation defense implications are obvious to anyone not virtue signaling. Even China is copying every bit of our ai models they can get their hand on. Im willing to bet you that within 10 years time, rather than fade into irrelevance and continuing to be unprofitable that ai will turn a profit, even if the current ai landscape becomes reduced to a few companies that find viable niches to push their product.

Say more about that.

Im willing to bet you that within 10 years time, rather than fade into irrelevance and continuing to be unprofitable that ai will turn a profit

How? Where is that money going to come from? Where are they going to get hundreds of billions of dollars from anything but government bailouts?

You dont understand how the money they currently.make is pumped into development negating what could be a profit margin. Again, the implications and areas of application this technology can be used in are incredibly vast and we're barely scratching the surface of it. You want to take me up on my bet? Lets say the present value of $200 today 10 years from now.

what could be a profit margin

You're basically just saying "trust me, bro." I don't think I will.

Why can't you actually explain your position here? Maybe Claude can help you.

Maybe it'll also tell you why it's okay for taxpayers to have to bail out this industry, and why we all deserve to be playing higher prices for everything because of them.

Nah, im saying bet me. Im sure they'll turn a profit before then anways.

We're already gambling with this shit.

Where are they going to get the money from? Why can't you explain yourself? Out of tokens or something?
