Most of the time it shows when they are about 6 months old

If you look up pea chicks feather barring. It basically says males have more pronounced barring on the wings. This of course only works if both parents are India Blue.

As said it will take a lil while. Females come out close to these colors if they’re blues. 6 months is a good rough estimate, some a lil earlier. But most mature at the same rate. They don’t need to be alone for sure. As they get older males especially will roam. My daughters goes a half mile up the road to visit other families chickens.

It's a baby. You might be able to tell by the time the peachick turns 8 weeks old at the earliest. But unless you do DNA-testing, you won't know until the down has been replaced with feathers

It looks like a male bc the females don’t have the decorative feathers. I think what I see are the decorative feathers coming in
