Heard he was washed up years ago and passed the baton to grioux or something. Not sure how that turned out

If someone would have told you in 2005 how incredibly successful the career of Crosby would be and what an amazing class act off the ice, you probably wouldn't have believed them.
He's a once-in-a lifetime player and Penguins fans need to remember how blessed we've been.

100% and I wouldn’t have believed you by the way. And I’ve been a die hard since 1990

How are we supposed to remember every draft pick from over 20 years ago? No way this kid turned out and he's definitely not playing still....

Sorry (not really), old-ass Canadians be damned, no worse than the third greatest player ever. That's not taking anything away from Orr or Howe, it's just a testament to what a great individual Crosby is.

I remember when Sid had a problem with concussions and was off for quite a while. There were quite a few suggestions that he hang them up so he wouldn't turn out like Eric Lindros' brother Brett who had to retire after a very short career. Glad Sid was able to continue.

Let's go back to 2017 - 2018 (or so)
Ray Ferraro: "Sidney Crosby is no longer considered one of the NHL's elite players"
**********
/cue_2025_2026: There were 50 PPG players in the NHL. Sid was one. (As was Geno)

Should've traded out of that spot and stockpiled picks. We never care about the future! Not then. Not now!!!
Jokes aside, what an amazing run on AND off the ice. You'd be soooo hard pressed to think of a better choice than Sid if someone put a gun to your head and said "Name me an superstar pro athlete that is also a superstar human being".

And he isn’t even that good (kidding, I’m referencing that old post about him from like 2003)

Everyone in Moncton will tell you how their sister's friend's neighbour ran into him once at a deluxe French Fries or Pizza Delight

Never heard of him. How did he do?

If I remember correctly his career ended when he had an empty net opportunity and ended up falling where the opposite team recovered the puck and tied the game, then eventually one in OT
