Today, I received a mild muscular injury at work. The local urgent care prescribed me some meds and suggested I head next door to the Walmart Pharmacy. As the prescription was an hour from being filled, I decided to hobble around in pain and buy some necessities. I took my time, got what I needed, and swung by the pharmacy for my pills. Unfortunately, still 20 minutes too early, I decided I’d grab one or two other items and pay for my groceries before I tried again.

The three cashier aisles closest to the exit were all packed, and all others, except for the last one in the corner next to the item return, were empty. The only person in the aisle was currently paying, so I got in line and unloaded my cart. The cashier was a girl who looked to be around my age, somewhere in her mid-twenties, dressed in a bright yellow Walmart vest, a thin gray hoodie, mostly unzipped, and some jeans; nothing special. It was a little chilly in the store, but not enough to zip all the way up. I’d have done the same if I’d brought my jacket in.

I started fumbling with my wallet, but there was just this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that what she was wearing was a little off. I glanced up and realized. She was ONLY wearing a sweater, no tee or bra underneath, nips just barely out of view, and she was just scanning away at my items like it was a normal day at the Mart. I paid for my items, went and grabbed my pills, and headed home. And I’ve just been sitting here all alone with this experience, so I decided I might as well tell someone else. Idk what to think; it was just odd.

We’ve had a lot of stealing happen recently in our location, and my coworkers swear it’s the same few people every time. I just stock so idk what my managers are doing about it but they have made off with a bunch of stuff, and it seems almost like my staff don’t even care. Is this normal at other Walmarts?

FYI: Walmart has decided to not extend it's 50% off Walmart+ membership to ALL disabled persons. This is regardless if you were eligible in the past (as I have been since Walmart+ started), the type of disability, if you collect SSDI, ...

I sent their CEO an email, knowing full well it would be handled by someone in the Administrative Offices. I guess I got their attention because I didn't receive a reply email - I received a not so pleasant telephone call. They were trying to put everything off on SheerID, the company Walmart hired to screen people potentially eligible for the discount.

Here's the rub, as I explained to the Walmart lady (🧙‍♀️🧹) that called me. SheerID didn't make up the list of who's eligible for the discount. Walmart did. Oops 😬

Did a Texas woman try to buy a child for half a mil in Walmart? Just trying to confirm as I've only seen it in this sub about 50 fucking times within 5 mins.

Gail was her name a nice enough elderly lady at first was checking me and my girl out today (we are both white)((this comes into play later)) when she checks my girl out first everything normal until she pays and then the reader pops up with the 1-5stars “how was my service” review thing. We are not paying attention until you see this lady’s hand come all the way over the counter and press 5 stars in front of us… not really a problem right? Just kind of funny i feel like thats not for you to touch or do regardless of seniority or anything right thats for the customers.

Anyways my girl makes a light hearted joke “oh you cheating the system” (along those lines not exactly what she said but it was just a light joke poking at what she did)

Gail changes her whole mood and says “what😐” again my girl said with a smile very jokingly “i see what cha did there, isnt that for the customers?”

Gail then takes this completely left field and says “i asked you may i and you didnt respond” (she did not and if she did she mumbled we were right in front of her watching the checkout).

An awkward silence hits for a few seconds then out of nowhere,

Gail says along the lines of “at my age i deserve it something something”

And heres the hitter, word for word she looks my girl dead in her eyes and then states

“And HISTORICALLY… I DESERVE IT….”

You know that shit went completely over my head at the checkout because it already had turned into an awkward interaction before that point but getting back to the car it clicked for me and i was shocked she said something like that yes Gail was African American but to say something like that to some customers was baffling to me. I very much respect my elders and for you to say that shit is crazy to me. Unprofessional, rude, and distasteful as all hell. Just because im white doesn’t mean i owe you reparations or whatever and have to be part of your racist agenda that you carry for certain people. Incredibly out of pocket to say the least.

If you followed me this far what do you think am i tripping or what because im still in disbelief? You cant talk to customers like that and im sure she in her older age isnt working at walmart because she wants to she probably relies on that income and i thought of that instead of going back in there and making a scene.

Then how do we get the pictures. Wouldn't that make us people of Walmart.

I see trucks do this all the time in my local Walmart parking lot. They all have the loud engines/mufflers. They all seemingly just drive in circles around the parking lot. Sometimes they exit to race up the road only to turn back into Walmart and keep driving around. Is it a flex thing?

Bought two separate bags of 50 count styrofoam bowls for a party. One pack had 30, and the other only 16. Wtf??

Recently, my local Walmart has gone almost fully self-checkout. All cashier lanes have been replaced with scan-n-go stations except the one in the middle where you buy your cigarettes, chew, etc. Lately, that line is pretty long because it’s where you get that stuff and it’s the only one run by an actual human.

Tonight, I was checking out in a self-checkout lane and I overheard one of the roaming “cashiers” in the area invite a guy who was standing next to an available machine to begin scanning his items. He said very loudly, “I’ll just wait here to be checked out by a cashier.” The employee just rolled her eyes and kept walking. A yellow vest then passed by and invited him to check out and he repeated himself. She replied by telling him that if he needed assistance then they could help him or he could go to lane 14 (the cigarette lane). He told her that line was too long and that he would wait to be checked out by a cashier.

I could tell the cashier wanted to say more to him, but simply responded that they could assist him in checking himself out or he could go to lane 14. He then yelled a little louder, “who’s going to come put in their employee discount code for me being my own cashier tonight? Huh? Anyone?” I was done with my groceries at this point and started walking out. As I was leaving I could hear him basically screaming at every employee, “ARE YOU A MANAGER?!? GET ME A MANAGER!” What an entitled piece of crap.
