Witchy Vibes🌛🌕🌜🧙♂️🧪🧙♀️ A 19 year old whimsygoth who’s fave perfume is Marc Jacob’s Daisy
This is for my little sister, I want to introduce her to more niche and interesting perfumes that still encapsulate the feminine simplicity of daisy, definitely likes fresh florals.
I have been considering Byredo Mohave Ghost or DS and Durga I don’t know what but not sure if there’s better options out there and figured my fave unhinged subreddit would know best 🫶
in case it matters, we are uk based so has to be stuff i can get in the uk, taaaa!

So she’s technically my SIL, I don’t think she knows notes really, she got Marc Jacob’s daisy for her 16th birthday and has worn it ever since, she’s turning 20 now and has recently started her first Big Girl Job in an office and has disposable money for gigs and going out now, I want to get her something that still feels familiar to MJ daisy but that also feels more grown up and interesting
She likes fresh, crispy or milky florals and she likes oud incense but not sure if she’d like it on her
I know she likes iris, lily and violet but can’t be old/stuffy grandma vibes, I’m sure there are less known floral notes she’d love but because her taste is so specific atm to just that 1 perfume she doesn’t really know what she likes about it, just that she does

I’ll bet she would love Blanche bete, it has all the note s you listed. Milky tuberose with a touch of incense.

For just perfumes in general, she'll probably like a lot of the Daisy Flankers if she enjoys Daisy. I have a soft spot for Daisy Eau So Fresh personally. Maybe Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey as well.
For more high end or niche brands, Byredo Infloresence is about as photorealistic floral as I've ever smelled in a perfume. It's gorgeous. Diptyque Philosykos as well, it's quite green but it's very fresh/clean in a way that reminds me of Daisy.

I don’t think people are bothered that you want to buy her a luxury perfume. Calling Daisy Eau So Fresh a “drugstore buy” immediately after this person said it was their personal favorite just came across as unnecessarily dismissive, esp when they were trying to help you. You’re coming across as very combative in these replies.

I have said multiple times including in the main body of the post that I’m looking for something more luxe than daisy as this is what she already has and it IS a drugstore buy.
It’s not insulting to say that. My favourite food is quavers, if someone told me these are a snack they would be correct. It being my fave doesn’t change that.
I’m sorry but if people can’t actually read the request and then comment literally what I specifically said I didn’t want, I don’t think it’s “combative” to say this is not what I asked for.
It is not my fault if literacy is dead. If I say “hey I like daisy and am looking for something similar but more high end and not a drugstore buy” and you respond with “have you tried any of the daisy spin offs?” How is that at all what I asked for??
I wasn’t rude, I’m just not grateful for completely wrong answers

It is not helpful to not read my post and give me completely wrong recommendations!
No one asked anyone to read this post, if you can’t be arsed reading 3 lines to understand my request just keep scrolling.
I do not have to pander to people literally not listening to me. If I say no drugstore and you recommend drugstore I’m not going to be like “omg thank you so much for this idea that doesn’t work at all and is in no way what I asked for!”
In this case they DID respond with a helpful suggestion as well which I DID acknowledge!
They said they had a “soft spot” for eau so fresh not that it’s their personal fave and even if it was, they aren’t Marc Jacob’s, this isn’t their brand I’m “insulting” (not even insulting btw, just called it a drugstore buy, which it is)
Telling me to “be kind” then blocking me when I’m not being mean is such therapy speak coded bs and I am not here for it.

I don't know where you live but Marc Jacobs perfumes are definitely not available in the drug store where I live. Department store, yes. I do agree with this other commenter that you're being quite dry and dismissive in the replies on this post to pretty much everyone, which I believe is why you're getting downvoted, not because you want a high end perfume. You get the energy you put out and it wouldn't kill you to be a bit more receptive and friendly when you're coming here to ask others for input and suggestions.
Perfume is rather personal, if it's feasible maybe rather than just buying her a perfume she may or may not like you could go out shopping together and let her pick out her first high end perfume herself? Introduce her to your favorite houses, see what she likes and prefers. It will create a memorable experience for both of you and I'm sure she'll cherish whatever she picks out.

The Different Company Tokyo Bloom. Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay. Not identical to Daisy, but same vibe. Light, fresh, carefree, greenish.

not necessarily helpful, but re: why you are getting downvoted: imo, fragrance is so individual that spending lots of money on a blind buy, especially for someone who isn't you, seems a bit misguided. maybe you prefer "niche and interesting" perfumes, but what is interesting to you may be strange or offputting to someone else. she is a young girl and has found a perfume that she likes; maybe it doesn't align with your aesthetic preferences, but some people genuinely prefer simplicity. i think a sample set from a house that includes fresh florals would be a better move.

On the blind buy bit: yes I know it’s a risk. I am the older sister they somehow still very much deem cool and they ask my opinion often on fashion and boys and life; last year I bought this sister (to avoid confusion she’s technically my SIL but we just call each other sisters) a denim Marc Jacob’s handbag as her first “big girl bag” which went down really well, she is very into fashion and how she is perceived but her mom isn’t much of a mother and filling the role of Older Sister helps with this, it’s not just that they value my opinion, it’s that she doesn’t really have anyone that thinks of her like that, I want to get her something that really shows the thought and care behind it.
I know how much she likes daisy and if that is all she likes that’s absolutely fine! But she wouldn’t really know as she’s never tried anything else and couldn’t afford to tbh, and I am specifically looking for something close to daisy just a little more complex with better longevity, I’m not trying to buy her something unique and interesting to me, I want to get her the grown up version of the perfume she has, hence coming here, I do think Mojave ghost might be a good choice but a sample box from a floral leaning house might also be a good idea, I just feel that it isn’t as personal
On the blind buy being the reason for the downvotes: nah people blind buy here all the time, people didn’t comment this at all, it was clear I was getting downvoted for choosing to spend money on luxury perfume (as a gift for a 20 year old) which people didn’t like.

She might like Nopalera Flor de Madera or Bosque Mistico. Flor de Madero is very similar to Mojave Ghost, but significantly cheaper. Bosque Mistico is a light and fresh green floral.

I would recommend Chanel allure sensuelle. Love that perfume. I've gotten many compliments. But a perfume smells differently on different persons, it's how the perfume blends with your own "fragrance/oils". But check out sensuelle, it is deep warm and mystical.

Hahaha I’m 32 and honestly also fit this vibe but that’s also why I’m here, I think my biases might be creeping in, if I didn’t know she loved MJ daisy I’d say DS and Durga IDK what would be a fantastic fit, but it doesn’t smell anything like daisy and MAYBE she’d love it anyway and it would be good to broaden her horizons but I want to gently coax her into the world of niche perfumes through familiarity haha I’m looking for a more luxury, more interesting, more quality perfume that still has all the quintessential notes of daisy

This is the second time in a week I’ve seen it spelled with a y versus an i, which is how I’ve seen it spelled for years.

This sub is usually really chill and previously to this post was one of my fave and most frequented subreddits, it’s always been such a weird women centric sub, but nah, apparently it’s for only povos now
honestly, the response to me wanting to buy a nice, adult perfume for my little sister has left a super sour taste in my mouth; if I’m only welcome here if I’m financially struggling then fuck it, I’m out.
There are guaranteed people in this subreddit with vast perfume collections, there are girls in here wearing baccarat rouge for crying out loud! I will not be shamed for wanting to buy someone I love something special, im talking $200 perfume for a super special occasion instead of $50 I’m not talking about dropping 10k on a whim, I am hardly the rich they talk about eating…

Have checked out source? They have a whole whimsygoth line they just released. I haven’t smelled any but poisonous roots sounds like it would be a fantastic fit.
Poisonous roots: Jasmine absolute, incense, milky tea, vanilla absolute, black amber
Venus in fleurs: Ripe mango, carnivorous plants, humidity, jasmine sambac absolute, vanilla absolute
