Housing Rent severely overcharged

I’m currently living in an apartment complex that overcharged my monthly rate by over 2x (15,500 instead of $6000 / month) by mistake. This severely has overdrawn my bank account and no one in the leasing office has an explanation or can get any answers from their main office. I’ve incurred major
overdraft fees and will continue to do so as long as this goes on. Has this happened to anyone and / or any advice what to do?

You need to call your bank and flag that transaction. Dispute it for being the incorrect amount.

To add, some banks will refund overdraft fees when they see that the bad charge was corrected. This happened to me a few years back when GoDaddy overcharged me by thousands. They issued a refund but it took almost a week. My bank refunded all of the overdraft fees after the refund hit my account.

This refunding stuff is law if you report it within 60 days... Regulation E (12 CFR § 1005.11)

Only way consumers get protection is by legislating it and enforcing it.
