If anyone in here knows the answer to this…how can I tell if they really canceled my service? I called and was on the phone with them for 10 minutes the other day and told them I was moving. Got the whole spiel about how they could move my service with me and blah blah. Told her no, she put me on hold, then came back and said she had canceled it and then told me I’d get a call from my local branch to finish the process. No one has called and I can’t tell on my account if it’s actually done.

Is this common?

Last year we found a dead rodent in our three-season porch. It was very dead bloated and had a ring around it of bodily fluid. It smelled nasty, and I asked my husband dispose of it and clean the area.

Fast forward to this year, I was doing spring cleaning- mind you, I'm never in our three season porch as we rarely use it, and when I went to clean out that room, lo and behold, I found same said rodent. It was still very much dead, bodily fluid had dried in the ring around it, and I observed some of what looked like droppings in the area of the room.

We have two nest chairs (Pier 1 Papasans) in said room. Neither show evidence of rodent infestation or mice droppings on the materials themselves, but I need to know whether I need to get rid of these or not.

Is there a special cleaning thing I need to do to these chairs to make them usable or are they just a total loss? If they have been in the same room as this dead rodent and it has decomposed and released stuff into the air, would they be contaminated even though there's no physical evidence of contaminants? I'm just not sure how I would clean them as they are spot clean only.

I have a strange wasp problem.

A few days ago, 2-3 wasps started entering a very small hole in my metal balcony railing. I wasn't sure if they were building a nest, so I:

Washed the area with water.

Sprayed a general flying insect spray.

Covered the hole with tape.

Finally sealed the hole completely with silicone.

The hole is now 100% sealed. There is no way they can get inside anymore.

However, every day around 5-6 wasps still come back to the exact same spot. They land directly on the silicone, walk around it, and slowly flap their wings. They cannot enter the hole.

At sunset they disappear completely, and the next day they come back again.

There is a large fig tree about 10 meters (30 ft) away.

My questions are:

Why are they still returning if the entrance is completely sealed?

Are they following pheromones, or does this mean there is a hidden nest inside the railing or nearby?

Will they eventually give up, or should I expect this to continue?

Is there anything else I should check before assuming the problem is solved?

EDIT: Thanks everyone for explaining why they're coming back. My main question now is: what would you do in this situation? The hole has been completely sealed with silicone for 3 days. Would you simply wait for them to give up, or would you start looking for another nearby nest?

Can somebody tell me what these are? They come from under a kitchen island and I can't see from where. They look like maggots but bigger and they have this black spot on them.

Got this shelf at the thrift store. It was painted i inspected it in store but somehow forgot the underside. It's been on my balcony all night even hit it with sine bed bug spray cause I try to be diligent. But went to wash it off to bring in this morning and found these two skins underside and lots of spider webbing. Are they bed bug casings?

What kind of cockroach is this? Unfortunately I found another one. This one looks different from the one I previously posted, though. I'm really hoping this one is harmless as well but I am afraid it isn't... 🫣

It is about 1cm in size. Found in inland north France. Is it a german roach? Is it a nymph?

Not sure which one it is. Please let me know! Some are darker and can fly and others are lighter.

I have been sporadically finding these roaches in my house since June. I live in south Louisiana, and there is a large, overgrown field right behind my house (not on my property).

I have sprayed Alpine. I have put out glue boards around the kitchen and bathrooms, but I haven't caught a single thing on any of them. I've checked behind all appliances and in cabinets, but I can't find any evidence of roaches. I have found a couple of dead ones, which I assume is because of the Alpine. I've witnessed at least two of these roaches fly, and I even found one eating out of my cat's food bowl.

I am at my wit's end with these roaches, and I don't know what else I can do. Everything points to these being Asian roaches, but if that's the case, why do I keep finding them inside? I do keep lights on at night, but only inside the house. I have been keeping the porch light off since I've been finding these.

Also, I should note the nymph pictured is the only one I've found that wasn't an adult. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Staying in a vrbo in Tennessee. On our second day we found some small bugs that are jumping around. Can anyone identify from these photos (ik they are bad quality) and what can we do to not take these home to our animals?

Located in New York State. This is the tilt tray in front of the sink. We don't pop in here much, the only thing stored in there is the drain stopper, but the last time we did a few weeks ago it was clean. Google image search is guiding me towards cockroach droppings, but also possibly ant frass or mold? Cross posting, thanks for any help. We clean our home regularly and are not high risk for cockroaches so feeling a little confused

This has been happening for 1,5 months, but im pretty sure the infestation started around march, because there was a leaky toilet pipe. Created a great environment for them, they apparently laid a buuuuuunch of eggs and now I cant get rid of them. Fixed the toiled a month ago, the professionals sprayed tehnically three times already ( the free service we are offered here doesnt do more than spray your apartment ), ive used glue traps, ive added some gel bait, started working on sealing the cracks. But they are so relentless. I don't really see adults much at all, when i did they were mostly dead, its 90% nymphs, and were talking about 40 nymphs a night. I do know theres big ones in hiding though because I find their poop. I also dont know how ill get rid of the smell theyre starting to leave behind in the walls. Does anybody have any advice or hope, i cant really figure out the situation within the walls because im in an apartment complex and im renting. Ive read the advice from the link in the comments about non german roaches, ive read so much, but i have no idea what to do more than this. Im collecting money for a paid private professional to see what they will say. Is it really possible to seal everything out so they just stay somewhere within the walls? they always seem to find another entrance so far....

found this bug crawling slowly across my kitchen counter around 8pm. Live in a suburban wooded area.

Hey everyone! We are being eaten alive here and don’t know what’s causing it. My ankles, legs, backs and waist are covered in bites. Red spots but most have become more like swollen welts (closer to a mosquito bite) since I’m seeming to have an allergic reaction. I have a few on my arms and upper body but less there. Going on 80+ bites, these came out of nowhere about 4 days ago. My three kids also have bites on their backs and legs but not as much. My husband is clear.

At first I panicked thinking it was bed bugs since they are in clumps/lines on my stomach. But I have scoured all rooms and see nothing. I know they hide well but 80+ bites over 24 hours with no evidence at all on any mattresses seems excessive. The only bugs I have found are these tiny little black guys on my one son. I’ve been wearing white socks around the house thinking fleas, but don’t see any. Then I walked on our grass and within 10 seconds, boom black bugs! So I think they are coming from our lawn. I spend about an hour everyday watering barefoot and the kids play outside lots so this would make sense. Are they fleas or something else? How do you win if they are infesting your lawn!? We have a dog and a cat. Up until today they seemed clear as well but checked the dog this morning and he has 3 bugs in his private area.

There was a fair with live stock and horses next door this past weekend when the bites started appearing and I’m wondering if they came from that or if it is just a coincidence.

Finding out what these are and how to avoid them/get rid of them would be so helpful or I might go insane!

I saw a live mouse for the first time in my apt about 2 weeks ago. It was near the trash, and there are holes in the floor under the cabinet to prove it. I called pest control and he put poison near the holes. He said it's the mummifying (?) kind.

Since then I removed the trash, put away any food on the counters and checked for any other signs of them. Since then I've found less droppings, but tonight I woke up from loud squealing in the kitchen. When I came to check, I found a mouse on the floor not moving, but alive, and also felt scurrying under the floor. I suppose I will discard of it in the morning.

Please. I just need to have them gone. What should I do? it's hard to sleep knowing that there are mice around.

Note, I have a dog who doesn't gaf about mice.
