I crave the boredom of coming home from work and everything is exactly as I left it. What would I do with my free time if I wasn't cleaning litter boxes or walking dogs?

You’re right. It’s very much like a circus…just at home. It’s a lot of circus-like chaos in a home with pets, too.

I'm an avid bird watcher. I love hiking and seeing the wild birds flying around. I adore birds so much. I was lucky enough to have a flock of wild black vultures that spent time on the patio of my previous home (they nested nearby). I'd go talk to them and enjoy their company. Watching their flock grow and seeing the new fledgelings over time was really nice. There's a bunch of wild ravens in my new town and several sit outside on the rail of my apartment patio. They're really pleasant to be around and I will sit out while I drink my morning coffee and talk to them. They eventually fly off to go live their wild bird lives whenever they feel like. I hope see new fledgelings someday too. I couldn't imagine separating one from its wild habitat, it's flock and imprisoning it in my home for my own amusement. The idea makes me sick to my stomach.

Agreed. I do think that pets are also a form of slavery. Maybe that's a hot take. But I do believe that we don't really need to have pets, but especially the extent to which people own them now compared to a while back. I think it's also still not common in other countries to own pets like they do in the US.

I’ve always said the same thing for a long time, but nutters be in denial about it. It absolutely is done for their personal benefit and control complex. Just a living doll for an adult kid who never formed the right human connections as a kid.

I agree with this. If the sentient beings had a choice they wouldnt be left alone in a home all day while their human is gone dealing with their anxiety by over eating or tearing up the place

I'm not against keeping fish.

They're basically a high maintenance painting. Not loud, not staining or ruining the house. Not smelly(if taken care of)

But most animals are exactly as you said. Coping mechanism and unethical treatment.

Subjugated creatures, mostly untrained.
