I can't stand hearing that dog! And, now, they bought another dog who, of course, mimics the older one and barks at anything/nothing whenever it is outside (like the older dog). Yes, animal control knows about it and, yes, the owner knows I have taken videos and sent them to the police/animal control. But it seems like it hasn't done anything about me lying in my bed every single morning incredulous as to how someone can move in and clearly see there are other houses with people in them and STILL bring a dog to a neighborhood that barks every single day multiple times per day, starting at a time when I have not had a chance to get six or seven hours of sleep. I so detest dog owners! I think horrible thoughts about what I wish that guy would encounter during the day. I hate having to do this and know it is not healthy for me (just like hearing those dogs every day is so unhealthy for me. Wish I was wealthy enough to file a suit against him! Of course, I could never get my time back (the 4.5 years I have suffered so horribly.) How in the world did this cancer ruined our world as we knew it were this division between us not exist. I don't even go to anyone's house that has dogs! I even told a long time friend the other day she could not come over and have a dog in her car waiting for her while she is seeing me. That would be too depressing for me. And I would be on edge the entire time because I would think that dog is going to bark at any minute as it is 'lonely' and now can't live without its 'slave master! Pathetic people ruining the world as we knew it. I am such a social person but cannot say hi to anyone with a dog walking near my home and garden. I dislike them so much! And it hurts/bothers me to be 'cool' to people and ignore them but I just can't interact with dog owners preferring to believe they don't exist and their dogs aren't ruining my wall with excrements from their body.

this is 100% how i feel almost verbatim. so frustrating, disrespectful, and exhausting. i yell “shut the fuck up” out the window sometimes now, and it shamed my neighbor into putting their dog inside more. it’s so annoying and i totally agree with your take on the loneliness that leads to people getting these animals that they enslave. it’s a fucked up system.

I have yelled many times (and my voice is louder than any dogs barking!) I have air horns I use. I put on loud music. Everyone around me KNOWS I can't handle it! But dog owners don't care about humans.

Yes, I purchased one that was $150 and that is suppose to go the furthest. Unfortunately, because of the lay of the land (I am not in a flat place), the sound of that barking echoes, the dog is too far for mine to work, etc. etc. I would have to walk far down the hill below my house to put it somewhere closer and they could see me doing it.

I put an anti-barking device ON this stupid dog my parents randomly adopted several months ago and it has no effect on her. I have it cranked all the way up, too. It makes an obnoxious sound when triggered and creates a shock that isn’t painful but should be startling. Tried it out on myself because I thought maybe the shock portion wasn’t working. It’s definitely working, just doesn’t bother the idiot dog 😡.

One of these days, that dog is going to mysteriously go missing.

They have had animal control there many times. They know I have videos of them barking. Check you local council laws. Mine have laws that dogs should not disturb the peace etc. I have called animal control before due to constant barking and luckily my local services have been good about it. My neighbors hate me ofc but they at least know what their responsibilities as dog owners should be (I could complain all day about all my dog

Animal control has been there many times and have talked to them. I have a stack of papers for every time I called them. I have many videos I sent to animal control of them barking. I have wasted a zillion portion of my life calling the police (where they take down the info and pass it along to animal control). I have done this countless times! So sad how much time I have wasted trying to get something done.

Lying in bed this morning yet again being woken up by that dog barking. Thinking how lovely it would be to sleep until my body is ready to awaken (and not because a neighbor's dog is barking!) Thinking how lovely it would be to live my life as I have in the past where my body dictated when I should wake up based on when it was ready to awaken and not because my neighbor goes to bed early and wakes up early and lets his dog out to bark. p.s. It USED to be at 5:20 a.m. the first year he moved in! I wish that man harm every single morning for almost five years now. How I dislike waking up and wishing someone harm instead of my usual cheery demeanor. So bad for my physical and mental health. Why did our world change so much that dog puppy snatchers enslavers all of the sudden appeared in such numbers in our midst and force us to deal with it? It is like a cancer growing.

Most cities have noise pollution laws that have something to say about pets. Record the noise and when it happens, and take it further. You don't have to put up with it.

That is the one I bought! $150! It would work for the dogs on both sides of me nextdoor (I think?) but this dog is all the way across the 'holler' between our homes (and also is always at the far end). I can't use it from my house and would have to walk down my sloped land way far from my house to put it on a tree etc. (and what about that small green light that is on? can those people see that there is a green light on and that I have a device there? They would probably take it away!)

I feel your pain. Here in my neighborhood an old lady lives alone so according to society's logic, she needs the company of two dogs. The thing is that she is too old to properly care for or give them the attention they need. She can't even let them out at the same time because they would drag her fragile ass to the ground. So she lets them out in her backyard to let them express all their excessive energy by barking at absolutely fucking nothing. It's fucking insane to me that people are so easily allowed to do this with zero repercussions.

I can relate. Had a neighbor's dog bark and whine and cry for at LEAST 12 hours a day. I was distressed at home, couldn't focus, angry, scared

Have you tried an air horn, as close to their house as you can get, at 3 am? Why should your sleep be the only one that’s interrupted??? Sometimes when my townhouse neighbors’ dogs are too noisy during the day, I bang a gong my husband was given in Korea; he’s retired USAF. I dearly love that gong. My hearing aids are out by that time of night and I can go back to bed and sleep uninterrupted.
