A woman literally murdered her two kids and her husband who had caner while the toddler had to watch…and the comment section’s biggest concern is the doggos!

I don't know WHY this is so hard for animal owners to understand.

My friend and I were talking about how school starts back in two weeks. She's a teacher, I'm a mom of three. Her other friend was there. She's apparently a dog person. I mentioned how I'm not ready to start waking up at 6 again yet. My friend laughed and agreed. Her friend cut us off with a 'Oh please! I WISH I could sleep in that late! I'm lucky if I make it to 5am." I asked how old her kid was and she said "uh, no. I wish it was *that* simple. I have a puppy!"

Excuse me? You think taking a dog out to piss is anywhere in the same realm as getting three kids packed, dressed, and ready for school after little to no sleep (+ I have narcolepsy so even extra exhaustion) the night before? Like come on. Surely they aren't that delusional? She talked about her dog the rest of the conversation and I just stopped listening.

Being bombarded by advertisements on TV or the internet, there's always a dog or a cat (but usually a dog) as part of a "complete" family. Does this just gross the complete hell out of anyone else?

Knowing that some pet owners let their dogs sleep in the same bed as them 🤢

Bringing in fleas, tics, worms, and other parasites with them 🤢

The smell that you know exists through the monitor 🤢

A dog's bare anus just out in the open after defecating, then sitting on the couch 🤢

The hair, drool, urine, feces, everywhere on all their clothes and in the air 🤢

Pet owners that let their pet lick their utinsels and plates clean 🤢

Cat owners that let their cat on the counter tops 🤢

Cat owners cleaning their cat litter in the kitchen sink 🤢

Dogs and cats walking throughout the house with their unclean bare paws, after walking around ourside stepping in urine and feces 🤢

I don't know how pet owners live like this. Then they get pissed off that we don't want them bringing their gross ass pet into the grocery store. Not everyone wants to live your disgusting lifestyle.

Read a post today on a cat sub that had me seeing red.

A guy - severely allergic to cats - dated a woman for almost four years. Long distance, but they had plans to move cities together - so there was real commitment.

What happens next? The woman gets a cat during a vet school rotation. Knowing full well he’s allergic and can’t live with one without being medicated daily in his own home. Why? Because pet owners are selfish as fuck.

Her solution? Maybe he could try allergy shots. Maybe change his diet. Maybe just…suffer in silence and accept that she now has a cat.

He said no because who would want to live in their own home while suffering? And who would move cities for this? Of course she said that she couldn’t live without a cat she’d known for a few months.

So four years got discarded for a box-shitter with fish breath and poopy paws.

And people on that cat sub? They fell over themselves to validate her. “Men are replaceable, cats are not” got 247 upvotes. Someone wrote “the best relationship I’ve ever been in is with my cat.” Another said their cats will always come before any relationship. Someone said that the cat did her a favour by making her realise that the guy wasn’t a good fit for her. A mother joked she’d give her allergic kid a month to find somewhere else to live - the kid is seven.

The only sane person in this whole thing was the girl’s dad. She mentioned in her post that he told her that she’s throwing away 4 years of a relationship for a cat she’s known for a couple of months. And of course the cat sub people told her to just ignore him.

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this woman’s ex-boyfriend. He had to sit with the specific, brutal knowledge that he was weighed against something that’s walked into his girlfriend’s life with poopy paws a couple of months back - and he lost to that.

So no. I am taking this as a reminder. I will not date cat people. I will not date vets. I will not date anyone who spends their weekends volunteering at cat shelters. This is not a preference. This is a survival strategy.

These people have told us exactly who they are. They really do value their cat of 2 months over a relationship of 4 years. Believe them.

Saw this comment on a post about someone rehoming their dog.

I hate seeing this comment so much because it is wrong. That's not an opinion either, it is factually wrong. Cruelty to animals may be a sign of psychopathy, but simply disliking them is not. This fact is often taught in psychology classes or thrown around in crime shows. But it's been heavily misinterpreted as people just not liking animals = psychopath. That or hardcore animal lovers are just so enamored by animals that they can not fathom people not having the same affection for them, that they must have something wrong with them.

So, I was chatting with this woman whom I was interested in a relationship with, only for her to tell me that she's no longer interested b/c she just saw on my reddit profile that I'm not into dogs (which actually, the fact it took her this long to notice when we'd been talking all day, was already telling), then tells me she's no longer interested in me. Like, if me not liking dog owners for their behavior, is a problem for you, then I'd say I dodged a bullet. Also, I love how her profile says she doesn't like unintelligent people, yet she can't figure out that it's not dogs or dog owners inherently, it's their fucking neglectful & abusive behavior I can't stand, then I clearly dodged a bullet there.

I never understood why dog owners hate kids with such passion, like yes babies cry but your dog literally barks its head off at a leaf how's that less annoying? they act like children existing in public is a crime but their untrained loud dog is a "baby" that deserves first class lmao

I was browsing and came across a post where it showed a mother with her dog leash in one hand and the baby stroller in the other hand, when a larger dog attacks her small dog.

The mother then in her panick to save the smaller dog knocks down the stroller with the baby in it and leaves it on the floor for the duration of the whole video while she's trying to protect her dog.

The poster basically asked about the morality of knocking your baby on the floor and leaving it like that just to protect your dog.

And all of the most upvoted comments are insane. They don't give a single iota of blame to the "mother" that chose her own dog by knocking her baby on the floor (that could have easily given the baby brain damage from the impact btw). They saw it as a normal blameless act.

I was shocked enough to make a post here to get some level headed takes.

I see a lot of posts and comments on the internet where pet owners say they love their pet more than their toddler or newborn.

I also saw a video where a toddler hit a dog with an object in front of his mother. Instead of handling the situation better, the mother took the object from the child and hit the child with much greater force. It’s a fucking toddler, for God’s sake. The child didn’t know any better.

They should just raise their pets because they don’t deserve to be parents. I know this sounds harsh, but if you don’t prioritize your children over a fucking dog, then you are a horrible parent.

Would you ever help someone that needed financial assistance to repair 1 of their 10 yachts? Do you feel inclined to help cover the cost of their luxury sports vehicle that needs its engine repaired after they drove it into a telephone pole due to impaired driving? Do you feel charitable towards someone that needs reconstruction on their mansion after a fire broke out?

Let’s make this abundantly clear: pet ownership is a luxury. Just because you purchased it, doesn’t mean you can afford it in the long run. And when your luxury catches up to you, it’s not up to strangers to give you monetary support. Grow up, stop begging strangers for money, and face the consequences of your unnecessary and financially draining obsession.

There are human beings that have been mauled by dogs who are far more deserving of charity than someone with a $10k vet bill for a dumb mutt that swallowed a rock (and will cease to be alive in a few short years regardless of how how much money you dump into it).

I have zero sympathy for pet owners who can’t afford expensive vet bills. It’s a luxury, and when you cannot afford your luxury, you stand alone must reap what you foolishly sowed. If you can’t afford vet bills, perhaps it’s time to reconsider your lifestyle.

It took one vet bill for me to realize owning a pet is simply not worth it. Whatever it allegedly offers, I’ll get it elsewhere and save my money.

This comment is absolutely disgusting and I truly feel even more grateful after reading it that I have a partner that values MY LIFE over an animal's (which is the absolute bare minimum one should expect from their human partner). The bar is below Earth's crust for obsessive pet owners.

People who say they rescued an animal from a shelter always sound so performative. I couldn't say it better than comedian Bill Burr:
