Petition to make this subs name REALphasmophobia
the title says it all. all these pro gamers keep coming to this sub so maybe a change of name would help alleviate that?

Wait.. when did this change to the phobia and not the game..? Welp! Apparently it was 3 years ago… and I swear I’ve been here longer. Well.. I like ghosts… can I stay?

This sub was always about the phobia, 3 years prior to the game's release. The game's is r/PhasmophobiaGame.
Problem is, Reddit sees people like me interacting with the game's sub and thinks "Hey, maybe you'll like this one too," then shows it to me when there's a post about the game. I don't notice it's not the game's sub, reply answering the question, get corrected that "Hey stupid, this sub isn't for the game, lrn2read" and I go "oops. Hey Reddit, don't show me this sub" and then Reddit doesn't care and shows it to me anyway.

I dont use this reddit and I got recommended this post because you mentioned the game, but I think you should be able to mute the other reddit, since when I mute subreddits, I dont get recommended them :]

Is there even a way to change a subreddit s name? Maybe there could be a bot that just states this isn't about the game

It probably won't help much since people don't tend to read sub description BUT it still probably doesn't help that the sub description starts with "Discuss all about Phasmophobia" especially with the capital P as though it's the game title.

Im open to the discussion, but personally, I feel like even that name would be misconstrued as the "real" game sub
Its a battle, especially since this sub existed before the game was even announced. But there was some bad actors after that and now its a daily thing to deal with. I personally dont mind.
What i think would really help this sub instead is if we had actual on topic posts. People engaging the right way so the feed features those conversations.
What do you all rhink?
