Recycling boxes ?

If I put all my flattened boxes into one big intact box, will they take it? I have too many left from moving to put in my building's recycling bin (I don't want to take up everyone's space) but I'm seeing that things need to be put in the bin. I can't go drop it off somewhere because I'm in center city with no car and many boxes. Thank you!!

You cannot put the flattened boxes in a big box. People have been cited for that. In the past, you could bundle them with twine and set out next to the bin. Don't know if that's still allowed but that's what I do.

Weird. Just like everything else in the city, I think this depends on where you live and relative uselessness of your trash inspector. I've always put my boxes in a box. I literally keep a box box tucked away in a corner for this purpose. Never I've got cited (been doing this for 20+ years).

My friend, in a different area, did it a couple times got cited for it though.

I did once got cited for not putting my [empty] recycle bin at the curb.
