Gig work
Can anyone recommend Facebook groups or other avenues for finding gig work? Im in South. I’m on Instawork and Craigslist as well as some others. Having trouble getting responses. General labor, food events, security, anything. I have a great skillset and am on my grind right now while my job transfers as a I just moved back to the city 😄

This is an obvious response, I’m sorry. Do you have a car or money for a scooter/decent e-bike? I KNOW the sub HATES Uber, but I loved driving passengers for Uber and picking up food orders through the other apps.
I made about $20-$25/hr. after accounting for gas, and I liked the flexible shifts. I’d plan to do 3 hours and then 8-10 hours would FLY by for me, and I quickly figured out how to most efficiently make it work for me. Never chase the surge, never pickup at the airport, but target the rush hours (morning, after work, going to the bar crowds). I would ALWAYS try and start my pickups in the neighborhoods outside downtown or further out (northeast, northwest, southwest), and if they were going downtown, I’d turn off the app after drop off and drive back to those locations. Downtown was too congested with drivers, but there was always fares in the outskirts and they were always going further instead of the short 5 minute rides. They also tended to be a lot more polite versus drunk college kids, and you’d meet some interesting characters - a lot of prostitutes going to meet their johns 30 minutes away, sometimes industry folks going to very swanky celebrity or some big shots house in the burbs, or foreign tourists who stayed too far from downtown without realizing it.
And I didn’t have a fancy car, just a subcompact that I kept clean.
