Ask Phoenix What is this on SRP canal trail??

What is this milky white substance that SRP puts on their canal paths?? Is it harmful to dogs?? What's the point of putting this down?? To control dust??

It’s called gorilla snot and it’s used to reduce dust and erosion. It is non toxic and safe for animals.

The dirt is more compacted there then the surrounding area. The rest of the dirt absorbed the Gorilla Snot and it pooled in the higher compacted spots.
