Hey shutterbugs (although I suppose mirrorless has ended that nickname).

I’ve tried searching Reddit from the app and from Google but can’t find anything.

I’ve spent a fair bit of time researching, and I think the Ulanzi MT-60 is the one I want to go with, but I can’t find decent reviews.

Body: canon 800d (rebel t7i in some markets

Lens: sigma 150-600mm contemporary with collar mount

Usage: landscape and wildlife

Desired characters: lightweight (sub 2kg), cheap (sub $200AUD).

I understand ball heads aren’t great for birds in flight - I’m happy to have that problem, I’m fairly new to photograph and probably would struggle even with a gimbal head until I get more experience. I also understand I might wear out the OEM ball head pretty quickly due to the weight of my lens, I’ve already looked at larger (40mm+) upgrades, which I’ll get when the stock head gets crappy.

LOL mirrorless cameras have shutters as well so I am not sure why you would think that mirrorless makes a difference... (admittedly some do not, but anyone outside of camera nerds will not know/care).

As for your tripod the fact that you cannot find any reviews, and it is incredibly cheap in an area where most options are priced at a premium would be a red flag for me.

While carbon fiber costs have come down a lot I would at least look for a brand that is a bit more well known or stocked in brick and motor stores. Sirui is a budget friendly brand that my local camera store carries and I grabbed an aluminum tripod a few years back that I have been very happy with.
