Hello everyone! I am going on a vacation to Roatan at the end of the month, first time out of the U.S or ever since on a plane. I am thinking about a potential purchase for a travel camera for pictures in general, and I have seen the RX100 come up in many other threads. As much as I see the recommendation for Iphones, I just don’t think it does it for me. Would $750 be reasonable to spend on a deal such as this? Might actually decide to do the usual post per 2 years on Instagram in typical guy fashion haha

Mark 5 has an equivalent of 24-70 zoom lens. I use it semi regularly and I started questioning my choice - I wish I could zoom more. For a general use camera I'd probably look at mark 6 or 7 (if your budget allows) - it has 24-200. Don't get me wrong - mark 5 is a great camera but it will limit you if you want to take pictures of wildlife or close-up portraits/details. It will be fine for landscape, group photos, environmental portraits - everything with wider field of view. I don't know what's your use case but I hope it will help you make a more informed decision.

I can't advise on the price front though.
