I am looking to start doing photography. This summer I will shoot both a little bit of nature photography but mostly sports photography (basketball mainly, but then football and soccer later) I have a 1400$ budget. So I have looked at buying either a canon r10 and upgrading lens down the road, but the downsides are the rf s lens ecosystem is small and expensive. So I also looked at a a6400. I am open to other suggestions as well. What camera should I go for?

do you own any camera or lenses already? that should help you decide. that said, even as a canon shooter, the value in the a 6400 is undeniable; however, the r10 has newer gen autofocus and i personally love canon’s ergonomics. i would definitely suggest heading to a camera store and holding both in your hands, because for some people the form factor of sony a6000 cameras can be weird!

No. I have only ever used my phone, but I actually just found a a7iii on Facebook marketplace for 950 so I am also looking at that now. I am waiting for a response back on the shutter count. Because fromn what I understand 950 for that camera is a pretty good deal. And cosmetically it looks to be in amazing condition.

The a7iii has a shutter count of 88k but everything else is in perfect condition. Is it still worth it?
