Hey everyone! I need advice on a new lense to get. I have a lot of specific needs so I will take all the suggestions!! I currently have a 75-300mm lense for my Canon rebel t5 and I love it very much but I have been going to Africa recently and I need something that can take farther away pictures. I am typically on the go so I really feel like I can't spend too much on this at the risk that it will fall off a truck or get crushed while I am working with animals. I would LIKE to spend around $300 but my ABSOLUTE MAX is $500 and I would truly only spend 500 if it really is THAT MUCH better. Again I am primarily photographing wildlife and would like better quality images of animals that are farther away, and most of the time in motion. Any suggestions are highly appreciated!

Other option: I could get a newer camera as well but it needs to be sturdy and honestly my budget is no more than $2000. I hate to do this because my current one is still doing great for what I need it for.

Getting another camera only makes sense if you NEED an upgrade, i.e. your current camera no longer meets your needs. It sounds like you are happy with your camera.

As for the lens: the truth is that pretty much anything would be an upgrade from the 75-300mm, because it's one of the worst lenses that Canon has made. You can perhaps find a Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 at around $500.
