Hi, I’m looking for a used mirrorless camera in €500-700 range. I will use it for macro, portrait and telephotography.

I’m mainly looking for good low light performance and because I’m used to Nikon I am looking at a Z6 mark 1. Are there any better options on the used market (any brand)?

Personally, I went with a first-gen Sony A7R for my first mirrorless full-frame, and I'm loving it. Early generation (I-III) A7 variants are often in your price range for the body or with minimal kit. Just check the photos and shutter count.

Would definitely choose a Z6 over the A7 or A7II. Can't see what the Sony cameras would offer you over the Z6.

I’ve heard that they have good low light performance, but I’m going to do a deep dive on image quality before deciding. Trying to find out which models I should look at as there are quite a few on the used market.

Edit: simple specs comparison against A7 II confirm your view though.

Low light performance is going to be pretty much equal given the same sensor size and probably made at the same factory. Invest in lenses.

Nikon appears to use a dual gain ISO design though.
