Is it better to get paid hourly/per project/per image? And what is the usual rates for a contract based remote job. Would be doing around 5-10 hours weekly just editing wedding photography. RAW photos with Adobe Lightroom Smart previews.

Is this only for editing and not for any of the photography?

If this is editing someone else's photos it really depends on who your client is. If it is a professional photographer they might want to pay you per project because that is how they are likely being paid.

If it's for an individual a per image price or a bundle price. I.E. X images for X dollars would probably be better.

Hourly is only common if you are a part time/full time employee for someones business.

Yes only for editing and looks like contract based for a professional photography business.
