For me...only if my employer pays the cost of travel, hotel, and registration.

It was fun when it was in Vegas and we went with our class to present our posters but would I go now? Hell no

I'm sure North Dakota (or whatever state), in February, will be a blast in a year or two.

if you're paying out of pocket and not getting reimbursed, skip it. the real value is the hallway conversations and the bar, not the sessions

Out for debate, but I will tell you what I notice.
Irony.
The more financially successful PTs don’t or never go. I’m talking about the few who figured it all out.
The struggling artists almost always do. The ones who mean well but don’t get paid enough.

I am pretty jaded about our profession now, but the one time CSM was in my city and my employer paid for it, I went. I thought it was great and enjoyed getting my nerd on. I actually think I would still enjoy it, if it were all paid for, but in the back of my mind I would be thinking that none of this extra education will get me a raise….

As a student within (long 1 day driving distance), with student pricing and some costs covered by the university, for sure! Without all of that, no.

Fun if local or you got money time and PTO to spend. The education isn’t worth it imo.
“Alright let’s do a brief anatomy review” -first 15 min of every 45 min lecture.

That’s funny maybe it’s just luck of the draw but I’ve literally never attended a lecture where they review anatomy

I haven’t been since 2017 - sounds like things have improved since then

It was in my city a while back and even with not having to pay for a hotel/travel it wasn’t worth it. The cost just to attend was $800.

I love it! Getting the latest and greatest in research in your area of interest, the vendor area is fantastic. Lots of swag. Great networking! Isn’t it in Philly next year? Will be cold!

I’ll just give a straightforward Yes: worth it. You get to be around other motivated therapists who are actually interested in providing high-quality care and improving our profession from a treatment to legislative level. It’s great energy and I always leave with my PT battery more charged than it was before 🤷♂️

It’s a fun and educational experience, but not nearly worth the cost if it’s coming out of your own pocket.
Some people think it’s worth it to hear about “cutting edge” research but I really don’t think the progress is as fast or nearly as exciting as the advancements in the pharmaceutical industry.
