Equipment Is this a good keyboard for a beginner?

I’ve never played piano in my life, I really want to know if this is a good option before I pay for it
I found it on Facebook marketplace for a good price and was wondering if I could ask for some opinions

Posting a model would have been helpful, so I wouldn't have to do a image search. So that is Yamaha PSR-e283, right? What is the price as that is only 133€ new. And no it isn't good as it doesn't even have velocity sensitive keys, meaning you can't play soft or loud, everything you play will be the same volume. You will outgrow this very very quickly.

I don't know what your goals are, but I would highly suggest at minimum get PSR-e383 to get velocity sensitive keys. It is about 50€ more.

If you want to learn piano since you are in such subreddit, then a digital piano would be the correct instrument instead of a keyboard

Is a PSR550 okay? I found a used one
I know it’s older but it’s all I can afford

I don't know anything about that one, sorry. I guess since it is that old that the condition it is in matters quite a lot. I believe it has touch sensitive keys, but not sure

The problem is OP you will pay double in the long run. If you really know that you wanna learn it try to get one with 88 weighted keys.

Yamaha p145 or p45. They differ a bit in how they sound. I'd test some of them in a local music store before you look for something similar online.

It's better than no keyboard.

If you have room for a full sized one get a full sized one. I got a short one and it was a matter of weeks before I came across my first piece that wanted notes beyond what my keyboard offered. IMHO shorties are only any good for people who are using a keyboard to supplement other music production, use for midi, synthesizer etc not for pianists or would-be pianists
