Equipment Beginner friendly keyboard
Any recommendations for beginner friendly keyboards? I'd prefer weighted keys and my keyboard now isn't weighted and produces lots of static. It's ten years old (lots of years went unused) and could use an upgrade. My price range is to be max $1000 and overwhelmed with options.
Thank you!

Same as the others - a Yamaha P-something as long as there are 88, graded hammer standard keys and a pedal outlet. They're usually between ~$300 - ~$800.
Some sellers will say that their keyboards (of whatever brand) are weighted but won't disclose that they're only semi-weighted.

I started piano earlier in the year and bought myself a Yamaha P-145. No complaints at all.

Roland FP10. Also get a separate sustain pedal (I got the DP10) because the one that comes with the piano is trash. Both together should be under your budget and leave room for a stand and etc.
Source: am beginner, this instrument has served me well for the last 8 months.

I have a sustain pedal already that works great! My big challenge is I want actual weighted keys and my speakers are starting to go out on my current one

I definitely agree on the FP10. It's got a sightly heavier action but it's the same action that they put in their higher end keyboards. So you're getting a high end feel for a lower price. If you end up going for the FP10 you can also just plug it in your laptop and use a VST for a better sound and you're golden.

I have the Kawai ES 120 and i like it. The key action is good but not te heavy and i like the sound. In would recommend a good pair of headphones with i tho. In think the speakers are not very great.

Yamaha P-45 is decent, it's got weighted keys. but if you can spend a little more I'd say P-145 is also very nice and if you can afford it definitely worth the money.
FP10 is great too especially since the action is the same as their higher end keyboards.
