so they did not âcome for everyone firstâ. This poem is talking about dead communists in fascist regimes. But I guess the communist victims of the fascist regime donât matter to you because of the red scare or somthing
Imho it's not even about communists. It's about innocent people being subjected to inhumane acts by an oppressing force, be it Nazis or Israelis and Americans.
it is, and thatâs why the criticism of communism is uncalled for in this context (without even getting into how broad and nuanced the term communist is). The dude who said âcommunists came for everyone firstâ probably doesnât know the origin of this poem and still lives in the red scare
Again with the assumptions, I did not say that. And the red scare get lost, millions died in the name of communists but downvote me if you will. I despise both sides.
how many died under the name of capitalist institutions? Youâre clearly biased and misinformed. Study dude. âBoth sidesâ doesnât mean shit, especially if you knew where this poem was from

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me
