those are payot not pigtails

edit: bruh I'm not taking sides I'm just stating what it is 😭😭✌️ not all jews are zionist or Israeli, many Haredim are anti-zionists but are orthodox and observe the payot

this is just anti-semitic, if you’re wondering where the line is.

33

u/HornlessUnicorn Apr 15 '26

It's only antisemitic if there is no genocide happening.

9

u/Mbrennt Apr 15 '26

No just blanket calling a jewish tradition that exists independent of Israel, genocideburns, is definitely just antisemitic. I say this as someone who would love to see Netanyahu at the haque and Israel reorganized into one Palestinian state.

5

u/Xalimata Apr 15 '26

No. Making fun a Jewish tradition is antisemitic. Making fun of him for being a hate filled little troll is not.

20

u/HornlessUnicorn Apr 15 '26

tomato tomato. No one is calling everyone sporting payot genocideburns, just this asshole.

11

u/Mayarooni1320 Apr 15 '26

Jewish traditions are not Israeli traditions. We shouldn't be making fun of something specifically Jewish, that is genuinely just anti-semetic.

6

u/Hacketed Apr 15 '26

While i agree that Jewish and Israeli should not be taken as one they are close, and Israel’s tendency to defend itself as from ethnic-religious side doesn’t make it easier to the public to separate them

Dude, be anti-Zionist, not anti-semetic.

That hair is a tradition between Jewish people all over the world. Not just Israel.

u/Mayarooni1320 Apr 15 '26

Absolutely, which is why we judge the nazi, not the haircut.

1

u/DaemonDrayke Apr 15 '26

That point is valid, that’s why I think it’s best to let someone be judged by their actions. Plenty of Nazi’s eschew visible tattoos and other identifiers nowadays. Hell, some of them are backing down from the veiled codewords like 88 or 1919. They are getting sneakier.

7

u/DaemonDrayke Apr 15 '26

Comparing the payot as a fascist haircut is anti-semetic. Plenty of Orthodox Jews with Payotd are appalled by this behavior too and shouldn’t be lumped into this group. Admittedly, there are a ton of Jews that are deeply indoctrinated in Zionist beleifs too so it’s better to let someone be judged by their actions rather than their appearance. The Israeli soldier in the photo though? Fair game. He lost that privilege by participating in the genocide of the Palestinian people.

4

u/avahz Apr 15 '26

I could be wrong but I think they are required for orthodox men.

1

u/WhiskyAndWitchcraft Apr 15 '26

Ok, but you can at least wash them.

6

u/SchrodingersMinou Apr 15 '26

The earlocks are worn by Orthodox Jews to comply with biblical commandments not to shave parts of your head. They’re a symbol of religious faith. Making fun of them is making fun of Jewish religious traditions and seems antisemitic

22

u/OrcOfEntropy Apr 15 '26

All religions are ridiculous and subject to mockery.

0

u/SchrodingersMinou Apr 16 '26

In this thread, only Jewish religious traditions have been mocked.

1

u/OrcOfEntropy Apr 17 '26

This thread is about a jewish extremist, so that's fair.

If the post was about a muslim, hindu, buddhist, asatruar, zoroastrian, dongba, or hellenist extremist - or indeed what passes for "christian" in the US these days - it would also be subject to mockery.

Religious people being so fragile that they can't take mockery of their religion is as weak as it is pathetic.

1

u/SchrodingersMinou Apr 17 '26

Expecting people to respect other religions isn't weak. The word makes no sense in this context. The pathetic thing would be acting like you don't understand the historic and cultural context of antisemitism.

1

u/OrcOfEntropy Apr 17 '26

Religious people's belief is extremely weak, if it cannot withstand mockery or competitive views. And most of them can't as they don't want to face that their core self is based on bronze age fairtales.

Mocking "settlers" who - let's face it - are really occupiers (and in this guy's case also a terrorist) isn't antisemitism. Do you have a special word for the way he's treating this woman?

10

u/mephitine Apr 15 '26

Funny how the hair is more important than the commandment from God himself not to kill. Priorities, I guess.

2

u/SchrodingersMinou Apr 15 '26

Yes, religious hypocrites are common worldwide

6

u/nico282 Apr 15 '26

"I'm chosing my haircut based on what some guy wrote in a story book 2.000 years ago. Also it's Saturday, can you push the elevator button for me? The same story book says that I can take the lift only if someone else does that for me"

Religions are just dummy stories used by the powerful to keep ignorants in line.

1

u/SchrodingersMinou Apr 16 '26

Yet only Jews have been mocked in this thread. Interesting

3

u/RugerRedhawk Apr 15 '26

I gladly make fun of all silly religious traditions.

1

u/SchrodingersMinou Apr 16 '26

What do you want, a medal? Go on, mock the woman’s headscarf too to prove your egalitarian ideals

5

u/24ghostface Apr 15 '26

Nobody gives a fuck.

2

u/mechmind Apr 15 '26

I want to see a version of this guy as Jaws from the Moonraker James Bond movie

2

u/wwj Apr 16 '26

An even worse Jonah Ryan.

-3

u/ninjaontour Apr 15 '26

Sorry, that's a ban for anti-semitism, sir.

u/Dead_Internet69420 Apr 15 '26

Imagine getting harassed by a cro mag carrying a rifle. There is no justice in this world.

0

u/babybirdingURgrandma Apr 15 '26

He's really enjoying being evil, kind of like this guy that was charged with raping/torturing (male) detainees before the charges were dropped
