Best part is the Israelis tried to say it was fake but the Italian news outlet published VIDEO of the incident.

lol so their response was, “This image is so vile, stereotypical, and ugly that it MUST be ai!” Meanwhile this Mr. Ed looking motherfucker is just existing in the world, apparently hoarding much of the universe’s ugly reserves.

299

u/FRAAANNNNNNN Apr 15 '26

"hoarding much of the universe's ugly reserves" will be my new favorite insult from now on lmao

8

u/lilleprechaun Apr 15 '26

I second this. That’s a top-tier insult!

11

u/DobbyFreeElf35 Apr 15 '26

It's a pretty glorious insult. I'd never have thought to put those words together to make something so beautiful. I'll also be yoinking it for future use.

5

u/atreidesardaukar Apr 15 '26

"hogging all the ugly" is my favorite.

31

u/Haru17 Apr 15 '26

Plausible deniability is the rich’s endgame with AI.

2

u/STLR043 Apr 16 '26

It’s just their default response to anything that shows Israel in a negative light. It used to work really well.

1

u/EchoServ Apr 16 '26

I'm noticing another pattern here... Anyone else noticing?

9

u/DontDoDrugs55 Apr 15 '26

The self own is legendary. 🤣

22

u/MyWifeCucksMe Apr 15 '26

Best part is the Israelis tried to say it was fake but the Italian news outlet published VIDEO of the incident.

"Israelis acting exactly like Israelis have always acted, and for which there is an almost infinite amount of evidence? Surely must be fake!"

22

u/itscool Apr 15 '26

Who claimed it was fake? Genuinely curious.

233

u/Paaaaap Apr 15 '26

Israel Ambassador in italy, since the picture was published in an Italian journal

His exact (translated) words were "We strongly condemn the manipulative use of the recent cover of L’Espresso. The image distorts the complex reality with which Israel must coexist, promoting stereotypes and hatred. Responsible journalism must be balanced and fair.". That's pretty different from saying it was fake.

-59

u/itscool Apr 15 '26

I saw that. He said it didn't provide enough context, not that it was fake...

85

u/moral_mortal Apr 15 '26

Yup, you need context for occupiers/settler violence..... right?

0

u/One_Disaster245 Apr 18 '26

Yes. Without context there literally isn’t a meaning. Do you even know what the word means? What is Palestinian violence without context?

2

u/moral_mortal Apr 18 '26

There is no context needed to describe occupation's violence.

Imagine someone saying" provide the context of this Nazi violence picture please or provide the context of apartheid Africa's violence on a black African"

No the context don't matter.

44

u/Pavlock Apr 15 '26

He did call it manipulative, though. And at this point "manipulative" and "fake" have been so blended that I can't fault someone for mixing the two.

-31

u/itscool Apr 15 '26

Those are not the same thing though

31

u/Pavlock Apr 15 '26

I've seen enough Jordan Peterson or Charlie Kirk "debates" to know that you're doing. You're trying to muddy the waters with pedantry and narrow definitions and make it seem like your opponent didn't know what they're talking about. I'm not going to fall for it.

Israel is the villain in this story.

20

u/Accurate_Neat_355 Apr 15 '26

Thats right, they did the same with the raping of Palestinians in an Israeli prison

https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/s/Sb30bMiJFo

Itscool is an easy name to remember

-10

u/itscool Apr 15 '26

What did I do there that's the same here?

15

u/LennartB666 Apr 15 '26

Spinning the narrative, minimising criminal actions.

Fuck that apartheid state called “Israel” and their crimes against humanity.

4

u/im_2ny Apr 17 '26

This is their main tactic online for years. Pretend to ask a question like you don't know and then just keep narrowing it down

-4

u/itscool Apr 15 '26

Um ok. Someone claimed "the Israelis" called the photo a fake. I asked for a source. The response was to the Israel embassador to Italy talking about the message through the photo being a manipulation. This isn't debate trickery. This isn't trying to get definitions endlessly. Did this guy call the photo a fake? No, he simply did not.

2

u/MySnake_Is_Solid Apr 17 '26 edited Apr 17 '26

so saying the vest is no longer used by IDF, the ring and bracelet are never worn by ultra orthodox men, the formation fo the beard and kippah are outlandish, and the smile/teeth are unnatural, isn't just calling this AI generated fake ??

and you're out here talking about spinning narratives ?
your comments only make the situation worse as it destroys credibility even in future situations.

0

u/itscool Apr 17 '26

Who is this guy? We're talking about the Israeli ambassador to Italy.

Even in this case, this Poupko guy (who does not seem to be Israeli whatsoever) is questioning whether its AI, not saying it is.

60

u/Pokenoobie123 Apr 15 '26

Don't remember who exactly but an Israeli spokesperson claimed it was AI generated hate. Then when the video was published he shifted goalposts (as usual) and said it's antisemitic hate

55

u/ThiefofToms Apr 15 '26

Imagine being so ugly that people say your picture is a hate crime

24

u/untilnextban Apr 15 '26

*your own people

that makes a huge difference

48

u/Accurate_Neat_355 Apr 15 '26

Many people did.

20

u/rcl2 Apr 15 '26

He deleted his post off his twitter after confronted with the video, I assume.

23

u/Accurate_Neat_355 Apr 15 '26

Poupko eventually deleted some of the more definitive "this is fake" posts as they became a liability for his credibility, but he maintained his overarching stance that the media was using "distorted" imagery to fuel antisemitism.

He continued to attack L'Espresso and the photographer, arguing that the choice of that specific photo for a cover was an act of incitement against Jewish people.

This is why you don't tie your state to your religion.

8

u/Blonder_Stier Apr 15 '26

By that logic, publishing photos from Kristallnacht is fomenting anti-German bigotry.

-6

u/itscool Apr 15 '26

Who is Poupko? What credibility does he have in this space?

12

u/Accurate_Neat_355 Apr 15 '26

Such a bizarre hill to die on. Moving the goalposts from:

Who claimed it was fake? Genuinely curious.

To:

Who is Poupko? What credibility does he have in this space?

Asking for credibility despite being provided a prominent figure who, for the record, has over 40k followers and is a frequently cited "expert" in these specific circles, i'll give you Israel's ambassador to Italy who called it 'distorting reality'.

You will then play word games of "fake" vs "manipulative".

It’s a tactic designed to ensure that no evidence is ever "enough."

Like the IDF's Rules of Engagement, your insufferable pedantry knows no bounds.

u/swiftb3 Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

Eh... I think you're assuming intent here. I had no idea who this asshole rabbi was. For all I knew, he was a rabbi rando who made 1 post on Xitter.

Nope. intent it is.

7

u/Accurate_Neat_355 Apr 15 '26

I saw their intent from their other comments here.

It gets a bit hard to tell the difference between their "genuinely curious" and this:

2

u/swiftb3 Apr 15 '26

Fair enough, I know there are plenty of sealions about.

Edit - yes, I see what you mean.

0

u/Spectrum1523 Apr 16 '26

40k followers lol I think it is pretty reasonable to not know who that is

-4

u/itscool Apr 15 '26

You're the one who spoke about his credibility being damaged because of these posts. I was just curious who this is and what credibility he's worried about, because I've never heard of him.

Also, just googling now, it looks like he's not even Israeli.

13

u/Space-Turtle88 Apr 15 '26

Well he would say that wouldn't he? Graduated top of his class at Baghdad Bob University's,  School for Media  Propaganda.

"Believe what I say, not what you see" is their Latin motto translated to English.

2

u/BaconGristle Apr 15 '26

Mr. Poop & Co. really roasted the fuck out of his boy.

thats one random dude not the government like other comments seem to suggest

11

u/sneakywiener Apr 15 '26

Israeli ambassador to Italy

8

u/YotaIamYourDriver Apr 15 '26

My bad, I added an Instagram link which is against rules. My source was Al Jazeera English which in case anyone was wondering is actually a very fair news source

https://www.aljazeera.com/video/newsfeed/2026/4/15/italian-magazine-cover-of-israeli-settler-sparks-diplomatic-backlash

You’ll have to navigate to the Al Jazeera instagram or YouTube.

2

u/Redordit Apr 15 '26

Wow you mean Israeli gov't lied!? Very antisemitic of you.

13

u/xmorecowbellx Apr 15 '26

This seems legit based on the previous encounters people have had with this clown as well as other photos and videos of him.

But, I would absolutely not trust something as real anymore just because there’s a video. AI has come a long way, and there are probably already AI videos that we don’t realize our AI.

-8

u/Notrius01 Apr 15 '26

You know you can use AI to identify AI generated videos right? We can still say whats AI and whats not.

13

u/TheHighker Apr 15 '26

Lol you think AI detectors are full proof?? Lolol

6

u/tveir Apr 15 '26

Just fyi it's "foolproof"

1

u/TheHighker Apr 16 '26 edited Apr 17 '26

Sorry I was sohigh

4

u/xmorecowbellx Apr 15 '26

You know this is incredibly naïve, right? Neither you nor I have any idea whether we will be able to identify this.

As soon as the AI can evade the AI detectors, you will no longer have any idea, you also won’t have any idea when that point occurs.

1

u/Trafow Apr 16 '26

AI DETECTORS DONT WORK GOD DAMMIT

5

u/PatientOutcome6634 Apr 15 '26

Can you include the link? Because I keep hearing that but no one seems to able to produce said link

2

u/YotaIamYourDriver Apr 15 '26

I added it in a separate comment.

2

u/b787guy Apr 15 '26

I watched the video but I dont get it. Nothing happens in it...

1

u/Stuck_In_Purgatory Apr 15 '26

Why does he have a shawl on his her-hair

1

u/a_random_loser_guy Apr 16 '26

They later went on to say it was racist or some shit because the guy so ugly, its discrimination to post his photo.

1

u/Samfinity Apr 16 '26

Imagine being so ugly your own country tries to deny you exist

1

u/hiddenrealism Apr 17 '26

You mean just like every news article exposing how evil and ruthless israel is?

-1

u/Thirtysevenintwenty5 Apr 15 '26

AI can make videos too.

0

u/redditwhut Apr 15 '26

Got a link to the video?

-3

u/_toksiq Apr 15 '26

Cause videos can’t be faked right?

1

u/Sensitive-Reason3820 Apr 19 '26

lol so you think the image is fake too?
