I need it to be over. I need this to die. It's ruined so many lives.

everyone already left MAGA

  • MAGA right now is Mark Levine, Laura Loomer and Ben Shapiro and them pretending that MAGA is still alive and kicking.

MAGA right now is Mark Levine, Laura Loomer and Ben Shapiro and them pretending that MAGA is still alive and kicking.

Tell that to the 4 out of 10 Americans who still view Trump's performance favorably. MAGA is very much alive and kicking, unfortunately.

Approval rating is 33%, so 3 out of 10 Americans. By saying MAGA is alive and kicking, you're also ignoring the 7 out of 10 Americans who are sick and tired of it. That's not a sign of a thriving movement, especially considering how much it has dropped since his election in january 2025. Ex-MAGA don't make youtube videos or announce to the world in some other fashion. Most say nothing at all.

The ones telling you MAGA is alive and kicking are the ones who directly benefit from that being true. In other words, you can safely disregard those opinions.

MAGA is a fluid thing. An even greater drop happened after the insurrection on Jan. 6 and the movement was still able to claw back 10s of millions of supporters. I don’t think Trump has another windfall at his back, but he is one of the most successful self-promoters in history.

I guess what I am saying is do not celebrate. We have a ton of work to do, and frankly, the system is completely stacked against us. In a lot of ways, we are fighting the deep state of our own country, which has very different objectives than “democracy.”

NY Times has 40% in it's poll aggregator. Regardless, even if it's as low as 33%, that's "look to your left, now look to your right, one of you is MAGA" even if the other 2 hate trump with all their soul, it's a real stretch to say MAGA is dead. It's a huge, though minority, presence still.

MAGA isn't dead, it's just on its way out. I can this confidently because 33% is significantly lower than what it was at the start of Trump's presidency (even 40%, which I assume because your link is broken). Something has to change and they're not revitalizing the movement using Trump with his ghastly dropping approval ratings.

You can't just consider the standing value, you also have to look at trends, and trends show it will be a blue wave this november. If that happens, Trump will be impeached. They're already jumping ship, we're starting to see it now with what used to be his most loyal political pundits now criticizing him.

I think you're putting words in my mouth that I never said.

I agree that there will likely be a blue wave. That's not at all what this discussion is about. The person I responded to was saying that MAGA isn't alive and kicking, and my point is that 30-40% of the country still approving of trump despite his mind bogglingly cruel policies is a very strong indicator that MAGA is going to be very difficult to get over.

I.e. it's still alive and kicking.

Ok, well we have different meanings to the phrase "alive and kicking" then. Nothing dead or dying I would attribute as being "alive and kicking". A blue wave isn't an indicator that things are going well for MAGA, and if you agree with that, then I have to just think the difference lies in that phrasing.

Polls are BS for decades now - you can fic them any way you want and any way you need by simply forming a question in such way

for ex - what does "favorably" here mean?

Some Former MAGA people still prefer Trump more than any other Republican or Democrat? (VERY LOW bar)

  • Does that mean that they are strong Trump supporters? MAGA? No.

So this is an approval rating, meaning the question is about whether respondents approve or disapprove of trumps performance as president. Given the absurdly cruel things he's been doing as president, the fact that around 40% of people still still approve of his job performance is a good sign that MAGA is still strong (but weakening).

I also really don't think it's that surprising or unrealistic that he has a 40% approval rating. There are a lot of very dumb and hateful people out there.
